Beginning this Sunday, on St. Patrick’s Day, we’ll celebrate our favorite Avocados at Law with a week of themed days. During the few hours of fitful sleep he gets, Matt dreams in red.  

“Yeah, I killed your old man.  I killed lots of fathers,” Sweeney boasts.  “And now I know your name, nothing’ll stop me from bloodying the street with your corpse!”

Standing before the ugly mobster, Matt is a child again.  Shivering and bereft in that alleyway as he clutches his father’s dead body.  Only this time he’s not alone.  He’s got Elektra beside him, and he’s shaking not out of fear, but rage.  He has to reach up to throw the first punch, but it’s a solid upper-cut and lands on Sweeney’s jaw with a satisfying crack.

“Yes!” Elektra murmurs in his ear, “Do it again!”  Matt lets out a roar and unleashes blow after blow, feeling himself growing taller with every punch.  In his dream Matt has the satisfaction of seeing the smirk he pummels off of Sweeney’s face, the bloody rivulets his fists create in glorious shades of red.  By the end he’s the one towering over Sweeney, and the man is reduced to a pulpy mess that seems barely alive, barely human.

“Finish him!” Elektra commands, but Matt is suddenly frozen with indecision.  Elektra huffs a sigh of impatience and steps in, her hands wrapping around the back of Sweeney’s head, his blood staining her nails dark red.  There’s a sharp snap as his neck breaks, and Roscoe Sweeney disintegrates into dust as his body falls.

“See, that wasn’t so hard, was it?” Elektra asks.  Now there’s only the two of them, and Matt’s own hearbeat is deafeningly loud in his ears.  Elektra reaches for him, and her hands are suddenly everywhere at once.  Caressing his face, stroking his cock, and scoring deep, deep grooves down Matt’s back that he never wants to heal.

Matt wakes with a start, momentarily surprised not to find Elektra pressed against him, or a dead man’s blood still smeared across his knuckles.  Instead there’s only the morning sun shining into his sightless eyes.  The familiar smells of his dorm room surround him: Library books, unwashed laundry, his and Foggy’s scents mingling inextricably in the air.  Only a few weeks ago, Elektra’s voice had echoed in this very room.  Saying “Σε αγαπώ,” and “Je t’aime,”and “I’ll always love you.” The way she’d whispered “Matthew” had lit a spark deep inside his soul…

“So, what does the face touching thing even do?” Foggy asks, a few hours after watching Matt’s touch an extremely hot girl’s face at a party and experiencing a confusing mix of jealousy and lust, climbing up onto Matt’s bed to sit next to him.

“Oh, nothing much,” Matt says, shrugging. “If people are gonna ask about it, though, I might as well use it to my advantage.”

“Wait, for seduction purposes?” Foggy asks, laughing.

“I mean, mostly just flirting,” Matt says, grinning. “But yeah.”

“Youdog,” Foggy says, warmly, then freezes suddenly when he remembers one of the weirder nights of his life. “Wait, why did you ask to touch my face then?”

“…what?” Matt asks, after a long moment, mouth falling open.

“Youaskedme,” Foggy says. “Why would you do that?”

Matt takes a deep breath before he sinks his face into his hands and says, muffled, “I was flirting with you.”

“What?” Foggy says, sitting up straighter.

“I was–” Matt starts, then groans softly and lifts his head again. “I was flirtingwith you. But you didn’t notice and it was weirdand–I can leave you alone forever if you want.”

“…Matt,” Foggy says, laughing, turning fully to take in Matt’s blushing, miserable look before he reaches up to touch his cheek, cupping it cautiously. “Will you do it again?”

“Touch your face?” Matt asks, looking a little stunned.

After Foggy says, “Yeah,” they both hesitate before Matt moves slowly onto his knees next to him and finds Foggy’s face with his hands. Foggy’s never felt quite like this before, hard in his pajama pants, overwhelmed by the feeling of Matt’s fingers carefully tracing his features.

When Matt’s thumb presses gently on his bottom lip, Foggy sucks it into his mouth. It’s mostly on instinct and he pulls back when Matt gasps, saying, “Shit, sorry, that was–” only to be cut off by Matt leaning down to kiss him.

“Foggy,” Matt murmurs, straddling his lap fully, fingers in Foggy’s hair.

They part to catch their breath a few minutes later and Foggy says, hopefully, “Is there…anything else you want to touch, buddy?”

Matt’s grin is the prettiest thing he’s ever seen and his hands are warm when he pushes them underneath Foggy’s t-shirt, running up his sides.

“I can think of a few,” he says, sounding happy.

Happy Valentine’s day folks.
