This was supposed to be a very different concept when I first started working on it. However, the base colors I had for the background reminded me of the digital art museum I went to in Tokyo. So I ended up changing the concept completely to make it seem like Jimin was sitting in one of the rooms at Teamlab Borderless, Tokyo!
Got new resin dyes! So I was finally able to actually play with this again. I am SO happy with how this one turned out, and think I finally have my method down!!
Not every design is a keeper. Not every choice made is one I want to end up with. And with things like resin, sometimes you just really don’t know how things are going to turn out until you unmold them.
Dare I say it - too much glitter! Secondly, you can see where my insert was curling up, which resulted in the blue not being able to lay smoothly. Third, my blue paint was apparently more dry than I realized, and refused to fully mix in.
Once I’m happy with a gradient/glitter combo I like, these will be for sale in the shop. And if anyone IS interested in the prototypes, swing me a message! I’m planning on selling the final versions for around $25. (Not finalized yet, gotta do the math) so if anyone wants the prototypes, I’m thinking $10 plus shipping - basically just to get the material costs back.
