Does anybody else use perfume to replicate their scent?

I’ve seen a bunch of miscecanis peeps (me included) pick their scents, but does anybody try to replicate the experience of having a natural scent with perfume? Ik irl humans DO have different scents, but they’re not as strong and get covered up by hygiene products all the time anyway.

It’s just nice because I can spray it on all my pulse points and then actually get the experience of scenting stuff for comfort purposes.

If anyone wants it, I can share some inexpensive DIY perfume recipes (since perfume can be kinda pricey)!

So, a little bit about me:

I’m new to the whole miscecanis thing. And this is my little corner to post about my journey, what I learn about others and about myself, and maybe find my own pack along the way.

That being said, I identify as an Omega! My pronouns are They/Them as I am Non-Binary. As I said in my description, I’d like to remain anonymous online so just call me Ai!

I have a lot of Omega traits and tendencies. And honestly the idea of trying to live within the lifestyle of dynamics is appealing. For a few reasons.

Structure when so many things around me have been changing.

Coping, having something comfortable to turn to like nesting. Feeling the compulsion to build my own nest is actually how this started.

Community. I’m pretty shy, and with the changes Covid brought my world just feels so much smaller. I’d like to reach out, to connect.

And some self-exploration. It feels a bit like something is missing in my life and in who I am, so here I am.

Omega

  • Keening:A wail-like call for something, usually a pack member or an item. If an Omega is not getting what they want or is upset, they will keen to get the attention of the nearest person in order to be soothed or be given what they desire. Basically shouting at others: “I’m upset!! Give me what I want! Comfort me!”
  • Hissing: A low “s” sound made if the Omega is provoked and thinks they or their pack are in an extremely dangerous situation. Hissing is a warning sound made to get others to back off or to alert others that they will attack if said provocation continues.
  • Trilling: Trilling is a high-pitched rolling “r” sound in the back of the throat that typically occurs in short intervals or once. Trilling is a way for an omega to get attention, in a soft and non-threatening way. For example, if an omega woke up and saw their partner in the kitchen, they could trill to say hello and alert their mate that they are there. Trilling in public areas indicates that the Omega wants others to follow them. As another example, an Omega may trill at their friends before running into their favorite store. The Omega is either saying “hello! I’m here and want you to know of my presence, but I don’t need anything at the moment!” or “I’m going this way! Follow me!”
  • Purring: Purring is a low, continuous vibratory sound made for a multitude of reasons. Omegas purr when they are content, relaxed, nursing their children, or are in a good mood. Omegas may also purr to self-soothe. If they are in an uncomfortable or stressful situation they may unconsciously start to purr to calm themselves.
  • Chirping:A quick, sharp high-pitched sound. Typically used towards pups or to express happiness. Mothers will chirp at their pups to send messages such as “come to Mom!” and “Mom is here!” Further, if an omega is happy, they will chirp to express their pleasure. For example, if an Omega’s mate makes them dinner, the Omega may chirp to indicate they like the meal.
  • Mewling: A whimper or high-pitched crying noise to express unhappiness. Omegas mewl when they are hungry or in pain, whether it be physical or mental.

Alpha

  • Rumbling:A continuous, deep sound. Rumbling is very diverse in how it can be used by Alphas. Most often, rumbling is used to self-soothe or express content and relaxation. Rumbling can also soothe others if they are uneasy.
  • Growling: Growling is a low, guttural noise made in the throat. Growling is used to show almost all displeasure an Alpha experiences. It can be used similarly to hissing for omegas, as a warning when they feel as though they or their pack is in danger. Alphas also growl when they are annoyed or angry. Last, Alphas may growl at their pup, mate, or pack member with a disciplinary tone to convey that they are not happy with that person.
  • Crooning: A soft, low continuous noise that sounds like a hum. Crooning is typically directed at younger pups or distressed people and is meant to come off as soothing and safe.
  • Chuffing: A puffing sound. It sounds like this. Used to greet pack members and friends. However, chuffing goes farther than that. Alphas will only chuff if they feel very comfortable with the people they are chuffing at. They will not even chuff in the presence of strangers. When they chuff, they are basically saying: “hello! You are my person/one of my people! I like you!”

Betas can make some of these noises. Which noises they can make varies from beta to beta. Some betas can growl and purr, but can’t rumble or keen. Etc.

All Nighter Tips (a/b/o edition)

  1. Have snacks nearby in your nest or den. It will eliminate the excuse of I will get a snack then study when we all know you’re going to be eating that snack for the next three hours and procrastinating. ( not a self callout no never *stability noises* )
  2. Clean your nest or den up before you study so then if your assignments go missing before you complete them like my dumbass you’ll feel some sense of accomplishment at least. or just have a comfy place to fall asleep in
  3. Light some candles that’ll keep you awake but also make you feel all pleasant and aesthetic. Some candles that make me go but also make the room smell good are peppermint, lemon, anything by yankee candle oh my god they’re the equivalent of huffing an entire can of Febreeze (unless it’s like caramel or vanilla or something two in particular are pretty mellow for some reason).
  4. DoNOT light any candles containing lavender or your typical comfy scent you will crash, burn, and fall asleep. Plus those are reserved for the comfy times you don’t want to subconsiously associate everything that’s supposed to make you comfortable with work.
  5. Take a bath or a shower beforehand so you don’t feel all crusty just make sure to turn it on i c e mode before you get out so you get that extra ✨jolt✨.
  6. Our sleep works in cycles so if you ARE going to live life on the edge and take a nap either opt for 15 to 20 minutes or a whole hour and 30 minutes. Anything that is in that grey area for you will make you wake up feeling like shit. Everyone’s sleep cycles vary in different ways so just sleep a lot ig. Nesting motivation ✨✨✨
  7. PUT THE NESTING PLAYLIST DOWN!!! It will make you slump because nesting is associated with cosy times and usually sleep. Plus it’ll just like ruin the mood when you do nest because you’ll be thinking about that due at 11:59pm type beat instead of your lofi beats.
  8. Get a cold pack to wake up. They’re good to have regardless in case your nest gets hot and you don’t wanna move or you’re feeling some sort of injury/cramp.
  9. Coffee can make you schlump if you have adhd so don’t do that the goal is no sleep because mommy capitalism said so and sleep is for the weak you ARE going to finish this math assignment. If you don’t have adhd just be warned that a lot of caffeine can make people in general feel like shit and caffeine addiction is very real. If you can’t have caffeine DRINK WATER!!! Water can help wake you up and it improves your overall health instead of damaging it like caffeinated drinks.
  10. Get a playlist of songs that hype you up but not enough to dance. This is especially good if you have a special interest that has music to go along with it (granted you WONT get absorbed into the music the second it turns on ️️) or you just want to learn more about something. For example I’ve been wanting to learn more about worker’s rights movements so I’ve been listening to work songs that people used to sing and songs people made about worker’s rights. (Talking about worker’s rights and neglecting your basic need for sleep in order to get work done is an oxymoron but )
  11. Get into an outfit that makes you feel like your type??? Like sweaters make me feel more omega-y and especially help when I’m having depressive episodes and can’t slip into comfy warm space because I feel nasty and don’t want to exist so ig this tip just works in general.


Fits I associate with alphas betas and omegas (do what you want with this everyone’s fashion sense is different):

Omegas: Sweaters, anything big and poofy, loose fitting stuff in general.

Alphas: The same hoodie every day, I know y'all don’t wash your jeans after 3 days of wearing them but don’t we all, and those grandpa slippers that are surprisingly comfy once you put them on

Betas: Sweatpants but they look aesthetic, fortnite t-shirt, and probably one of those hoodie cloaks


AND MOST IMPORTANTLY:

Your worth isn’t defined by your grades. Don’t completely neglect your health for the sake of work. I know sometimes you really need to get shit done but don’t make it an every night thing you’re better than that. It’s genuinely important that you take this seriously even though you’re probably going to be like me emulating that sweet sweet gifted kid burnout and going FUUUCKKKK YOU but if you cut out the all nighters in favor of some better time management and some genuine REST you will feel much better. Idk how to get out of this rut because I literally just shat out an essay and a quiz an hour ago and it’s currently 1am, BUT I’m going to make an actual schedule tomorrow and follow it so the work is done earlier to avoid another all nighter so uh do that ig. Take care of yourself.



Message to people who aren’t in the omegaverse fandom that get this on their feeds: this account is sfw and doesn’t engage in the fanfiction-y side of a/b/o as much as it does in what it would be like if our biology were different and how that would impact history/me making textposts like this as a self callout/coping thing because a/b/o is generally a very nice coping mechanism for me and many others.

What traits or things helped you realize how you identify yourself?

Personally Omega-ish things I do:

  1. Watching *so many* Personal Attention ASMR videos
  2. Always surrounded by blankets and pillows + realizing I’ve always made a nest of my bed since I was a child
  3. A deep emotional attachment to every plushie/stuffie I’ve ever owned (+ the one time I cried over the thanksgiving dinner turkey being cooked because I’d been carrying it around and it was my “baby”)
  4. No impulse control
  5. Emotions ™️ + Overwhelming Empathy ✨

listen, can i just say something? i think diversity in a/b/o is so good. like the breaking stereotypes and all that stuff, i appreciate it so much and it’s amazing. there should definitely be more of that, but also please remember, if you’re into the traditional stuff too, it doesn’t make you a bad person! you can like whatever you like and you shouldn’t feel bad about your universe or canon, even if it seems overdone or too stereotypical. do your thing and like what you like. there’s no point in being rude to others for their personal likes and tastes. we’re all different, and that’s okay. thanks for hearing me out! ♡

There are a lot of trans people in miscecanis! Here are some reasons why I think this is:

  • Omegaverse does fun stuff with gender, which can make it a safe place to explore gender beyond the way our society conceives of it
  • The dynamic that a miscecanis person identifies with might contribute to how they understand their gender
  • Similarly, miscecanis gives people an opportunity to express themselves through a really cool made up system of gender. Who doesn’t want a bit of gender escapism when you are dealing with the mortifying ordeal of being known every day irl?
  • There is no rules or even consensus on the way that bodies are supposed to look and act in omegaverse. A person of a specific gender or dynamic could have a wildly different body, instincts, etc depending on who is writing! All bodies are great bodies, and people can be built in so many different ways and their identity are completely valid.
  • The popular “hiding your dynamic” trope within a/b/o can be a familiar experience to trans people who have had to hide their gender for one reason or another
  • Queer people, yknow how when you figure out that you’re queer and it turns out that the people you’ve been drawn to your whole life aren’t either? The queer magnetism effect— we find each other

I also want to point out that there are transgender people who also identify with being transdynamic in miscecanis. That’s really cool! Even with the ability to choose one’s dynamic, there are people who see their trans identity as part of them and being that into miscecanis. That pride in transness showing up so clearly in miscecanis makes me so proud of our community.
