Since more than anything I’m a Ferham main on Rockman X DiVE, I decided to pick up this cel of Ferham wearing this special skin in the X DiVE animated opening intro. I mean, she’s got a big ‘R’ on her for ‘Rockman,’ obviously. I’m sad I wasn’t able to post this on Rockman Day…

OK, fine.

More or less, with a few sprinkled in-between, a 7-month hiatus? I’m sorry work and the state of this planet has destroyed my energy and motivation. So, while I finally have a week off for the first time since January, I’m going to make an attempt at starting this back up to try to get daily scans going again.
As usual, translations may not be the most accurate, as I use Google Translate, so feel free to correct me if I’m ever way off, or just fail to translate because I can’t make an educated guess.
Twitter voted, and EXE Stream barely edged out Ryuusei with a late surge, so I will begin with some rescans from that series first.
Been sitting on this one for a bit, too. A Studio Bones folder full of production art for a scene from Ep. 38 of Fullmetal Alchemist (the original 2003 series, not Brotherhood), entitled “With the River’s Flow.”
Some of the outer and timing folder scans:
From this folder, it looks like there were originally 37-ish sketch pieces comprising this scene, and I got about 25 of those in this batch. Obviously, they are not all complete art pieces, but still give a neat look at what goes into making even a short animated sequence.
This is early in the episode, as Al and Ed argue about their plan and Ed’s stubbornness, resulting in some comedic alchemy fighting between the bros. This scene ends the fight, with Ed telling Al to “Shut up. Do whatever you want.” as he breaks free from Al’s ‘hand’-iwork and walks away.
There are plenty more scans than I can fit into a tumblr post, of course, though. If you want to see the full set, they have been uploaded into my updated Photos anime cel gallery here.
Well, it is still April, so I guess posting cels of April O’Neil is somewhat fitting. A decent-sized batch of 8 Ninja Turtles cels I acquired this month.
First, a couple of April leaning up against a pole, April in trouble in the water, before Mikey and Raph then pop up to help. Followed by solo cels of Raph, Donnie, then Mikey in a trenchcoat, and finally Shredder wondering, “Am I so out of touch? No, it’s the Turtles who are wrong!”
These are all pre-matted cels, so I’m not destroying that to scan the cels apart from the BGs. They all still scanned pretty cleanly, regardless.
About 5 years ago, I brought you the production art from Megaman Volnutt’s ending from the Japanese edition of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Cross Generation of Heroes. After knowing of it’s existence and missing out on it in the time since, I can now say have obtained the production artwork for Roll’s ending!
Once again, these are not to be confused with the Western edition of the game, which had art done by the UDON crew based on these scenes, but drawn and presented a little differently. These static artwork pieces show up before the animated endings for the characters. So this is now everything Megaman-related, as Zero was only an Ultimate All-Stars exclusive, and wasn’t included in this version.
What I have here covers 2 of the 3 ending cutscene images. It does not contain the first scene, in which Roll has fallen into the factory and appears a bit hurt.
First up, 4 production pieces for the second scene, which has Roll finding Huitzil from Darkstalkers and Vector from Star Gladiator in the abandoned factory, and powering them on. There are a few pose variations for Roll, to go with a fully detailed background without character obstruction.
The next 4 are from the 3rd and final scene, in which Roll presents them to Rock and Dr. Light as helpful housekeeping robots. Besides the full group image, there is one each with Roll separate from the others, and a full unobstructed background of Dr. Light’s lab.
The last pic is a little interesting. It’s a back view of Megaman Volnutt that, based on his position, makes it seem like he maybe was being considered to take the place of Rock/Dr. Light, or both, in this scene. Can’t say I recall him in this pose in any other ending, including his own, so I will just assume this is a lost concept of his inclusion into this ending.
These files have been added into my Google Photos album with the Volnutt images HERE.
You can also access them at full HQ resolution (back to a ridiculous 13200 x 10000~ish pixels) in my Drive HERE.
New Simpsons cel from an early scene in Homer At The Bat.
After chastising the guys for not wanting to sign up for the company softball team, Homer tells them he has a secret weapon this year.
“A secret weapon? I wonder what it could be…?”
When we get to Carl’s sequence, he imagines Homer with springs on his cleats, jumping from base to base. And that’s where this frame comes from. Not a matching photocopy background, but fairly close. His missing fingertips really weren’t drawn, and were cut off to fit within the thought bubble.
