y’all are mad that “MoM ignored wanda’s character development from wandavision and mischaracterized her”, even though the post credit scene in wandavision had her using the darkhold and it is explained both there and in MoM how extremely corrupting that can be??? the way she acts is 100% in character imo, she is literally being controlled. the darkhold is using her loss and grief as a weakness against her.

also— is fun still allowed?? because idk about you all but watching badass creepy and super powerful wanda being the villain was the most fun i’ve had at the cinema in a really long time

also yeah, at the end of wandavision she tried to let her pain go and she failed. Don’t you think it’s great to see a superhero failing at getting better?

She just wanted to be with her babies and of course she was corrupt by the darkhold but wanting to be with her children, especially for Wanda who’s family is the thing that matters the most, is natural? That woman would do anything for her children it’s why the darkhold make her hear Billy and Tommy at the end of wandasion, it was over for her as soon as she heard them scream for their mom.

Also yeah, « what mouth ? » is the best moment in the mcu and it was insanely fun to see her kill all of them.

Okay, straight-up, i’m disappointed. There was SO much wasted potential and a lot that happened added nothing to the plot. Like having the illuminati there including CHARLES XAVIER AND REED RICHARDS just to have Wanda kill them? Like I know she’s powerful, but come on, at least give Wanda and Charles a proper fight. Charles is by no means weak, so wanda just snapping his neck was quite literally stupid to me. I cant even express how dumb it was. Like i said, i know very well how powerful Wanda is, but come on now. Also one thing that made it much less exciting was how 90% of the cameos were in the trailer. Also personally i wish Peter Maximoff and Erik Lehnsherr were in this. It was so freaking rushed i can’t even. overall, i’m very disappointed, after waiting on this movie for well over a year, and not to mention it being my most anticipated movie for phase 4, it was sad. But i guess that’s what you get when you let Mishap Walmart (m*chael w*ldron) write the entire thing. Honestly i wanna know how it would’ve went before the rewrites because could it really have been worse? Obviously the answer is yes, but still. And of course this is in no way hate to any of the actors who starred in this film :)

No one is allowed to complain about Wanda accidentally enslaving an entire town if they also think that Strange intentionally making a man beat himself for 3 weeks, just for shits and giggles, was a totally okay thing to do

Okay but until the very end, no one really consoled Wanda or understood her grief, they only tried to make her move past it by relating their own experiences with hers or proving to her how she’s in the wrong (for having very valid feelings).

I mean all of this could’ve been avoided if someone just talked to her or actually listened to her.

Happy Mother’s Day to Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch, Harbinger of Chaos

I would also like to talk more about Sheila Atim who plays Sara in Multiverse of Madness.

I had hoped she was going to be the Sara from the comics who is Wong’s love interest, but she dies super quick and I was sad. Where are the Wong/Sara fics?

But also I was kinda proud. Because she and America were the only ones who slowed Wanda down at all. (And ultimately Wanda defeats herself.)

Dudes continue to be useless. Ladies get shot done.

Wanda and the Darkhold

One criticism I see of MoM is that Wanda’s arc from “WandaVision” was erased. I don’t entirely think that is the case, because she kidnapped a town and received no punishment for it. I think in the end she does the right thing in letting everyone, including Vision and the boys, go. But it shows us that she does have this violence in her.

And then the show leaves us with her hearing voices from the Darkhold which is ominous. Maybe some people thought she was going to learn from it?

I think MoM could have done a better job explaining HOW the Darkhold corrupts you. Have seen people saying it was handled better in Agents of SHIELD but I didn’t watch that season. The filmmakers would probably say it’s not just Wanda, it’s also Strange. The movie is like “look it can corrupt Strange too!” since not one but TWO Strange variants are sentenced to death for using it.

But I don’t feel like we got a good sense of what was going on in those Strange’s minds or Wanda’s. My sense from comics is that it preys on your desires (Wanda wants her kids and Strange wants power) and brings out very bad parts of you, even amplifies your worst traits.

Perhaps a few more lines from Wong (who is not just Sorcerer Supreme but also former Librarian of Kamar Taj) about it, and some more details from the Illuminati about what their Strange did. (I know they say he destroyed another universe and caused an incursion but that’s all comics nonsense unless you give it human stakes and weight.)

Now I am already moving on to how to fix it, and I think perhaps our girl Agatha Harkness could do it on her show. She had the Darkhold for a very long time. I wonder if we will see her as more of the neutral sometimes good, sometimes bad version like in the comics now. Maybe getting cut off from it would be like going off drugs cold turkey. Idk.

I know I said I wasn’t going to post more about MOM. But.. I lied.

Was I the only one really upset by the changes they made to America Chavez??? Because I see a lot of posts in her tag being like “OMG woobie . Stephen is her new Dad!”

And, yes. Xochitl is adorable. Please watch Babysitters Club. This is known.

But I am like, I hate that they made her so toothless. She couldn’t fly, that was my first annoyance. And she was generally a much meeker child that was like a human McGuffin and not a character.

Fans: Oh I get it! It’s like a reverse “House of M”, right? Wanda tries to pull Billy and Tommy into her universe, and accidentally brings mutants into the MCU, easily integrating the X-Men franchise you got the rights to from the Fox merger with the Avengers. That explains why Professor X is in the movie.
