Ever wondered how they weigh the world’s smallest monkey pygmy marmoset

This is a beautiful example of positive reinforcement! Many facilities use operant conditioning to encourage the animals to behave in ways that facilitate their care. You could capture, sedate and weigh the animal- or you can teach it not to be afraid of the scale by associating the scale with a yummy treat. These training sessions help the keepers take care of the animal and is a source of enrichment and positive bonding for the keeper and animal. The person in contact with the animal is a trained professional- never attempt to touch or feed wildlife.

The Monkey King is a main character in the classical Chinese epic novel Journey to the West. In the novel, he is a monkey born from a stone who acquires supernatural powers through Taoist practices. After rebelling against heaven and being imprisoned under a mountain by the Buddha, he later accompanies the monk Xuanzang on a journey to retrieve Buddhist sutras from India.
