It has been one year since I decided to draw a picture of the Sanders Side’s as Monsters, since I created an ask blog, since I started this journey. And man have we come so far. Over three hundred posts, nine thousand followers, and too many asks to count I have enjoyed every step of this adventure and I can’t wait to see where this story leads us next. Happy Birthday Monster Sides!
Its been one year since I came up with this au for a quick little drawing, and man has it evolved! I never expected so many people to enjoy this and I am so glad you do, I truly hope you all have had as much fun following this blog as I have making it . I have loved coming up with backstories, choosing monsters, and answering all of your questions. I have big plans for october and I can’t wait to finally start posting again!

What’s this? A rewrite of @askmonstersides‘s AU? Why, yes. Yes it is. I rewrote it mostly because I needed to add some key details and some ships… I’ll put the ships in the tags and I hope you guys enjoy! I don’t think permission expires, right? They gave me permission, so… I would hope that it doesn’t expire…

“I think he’s waking up!” A voice said.
“Patton, please move away. He might scream if you are that close.” Another voice said.
“Fiiiinnnneeeee…” There was a rustling movement, signaling that someone or something moved.
Thomas stirred a bit and he opened his eyes slowly. He saw two people in front of him. He looked up and immediately yelped. He stood up and ran behind the tree he was originally sleeping under.
The shorter boy looked up at a much taller boy. “Is he scared of us?” He asked the taller boy.
“I would think so, we are known as freaks by the nearby town.” The taller one pushed his glasses up.
Everything was silent. Thomas thought he was gone, but that’s when the shorter boy started talking.
“Um, excuse me? We aren’t here to hurt you, we just found you here. Can you please come out?” He asked. Thomas found his voice soothing and sweet. He slowly peeked out from behind the tree. “We aren’t here to hurt you, kiddo. We know you’re just scared, we want to help you.”
Thomas looked at the shorter boy. Thomas nodded and came out from behind the tree.
“Can you tell us who you are?” The boy asked.
“T-Thomas…” Thomas stuttered.
“Well Thomas, I’m Patton and this is my friend, Logan.” Patton gestured to a guy who had stitches and bolts in his neck. Thomas could see sparks reflecting off of his bolts. Patton had brown dog ears and a tail that was slightly wagging. “How did you get here?”
“Angry mob, I guess.” Thomas quietly said.
Patton looked at him with soft eyes and smiled slightly. “You’re free to come with us to our home. It’s not much, but-”
“Patton, what are you doing?” Logan asked.
“Inviting him to our home. We can’t just leave him out here to fend for himself. What if that angry mob finds him?” Patton asked. Logan looked at Patton for a second and then sighed. Patton smiled and looked back at Thomas. “What do you say? We can give you new clothes since yours are… dirty and bland. Roman can help you with your outfit.”
“Roman…?” Thomas asked.
Patton giggled a bit. “He’s a vampire who has a great sense in fashion. He can help you with a new outfit.”
“I…” Thomas thought for a moment. He really wanted somewhere safe to be himself. And he really wanted to know what was happening with the designs on his skin. “I’ll go.”
Patton clapped his hands and his eyes sparkled. “Yay! New friend! You’re going to love it there!”
Patton took Thomas by the hand and dragged him away. Logan sighed once more and followed them.

The swirls kept creeping onto Thomas’ skin as he kept running. The adrenaline was rushing around in his body. His breathing was shallow and quick. He kept moving branches out of the way and occasionally jumped over things that were in his path.
He looked behind him and noticed that he didn’t see any light. Thomas skidded to a stop and stumbled over to a tree. He put his left hand on it and slowly collapsed onto the ground.
Thomas stayed there for a moment, just trying to catch his breath and calm down. He finally got a look around. He only saw trees and it was dark.
‘Well, it is nighttime and an angry mob just decided to chase me out seeing as I am a so-called 'freak’. Maybe they are right…’ Thomas thought to himself.
He started to feel tired and his body ached with over-stimulation.
'Maybe… I can rest for a… little while…’ Thomas’ thoughts faded and he slowly closed his eyes, drifting quietly off to sleep.

Clothes:Pink button-up t-shirt with yellow and hot pink stars replacing the buttons as well as a yellow star on the pocket. Blue jeans. White shoes (of whatever brand). He has a pink charm bracelet and a pink witch hat. He has pink swirls on his body, such as on his arms, legs, chest, back, and face.
Patton -
Species:Werewolf (Brown ears and tail)
Skin color: Tan. Has freckles.
Eye color:Blue
Hair color: Light brown
Clothes:Blue knee-length dress with a white bow. Brown coat with light brown fluff. White leggings. Brown fluffy boots. Black round thin-rimmed glasses.
Logan -
Species: Frankenstein’s Monster
Skin color:Greenish-grey
Eye color:Indigo
Hair color:Brown
Clothes: Blue button-up shirt with an indigo-colored tie. Black vest. Black belt. Black pants. Black dress shoes (This is a lot of black). Black thin-rimmed square glasses.

Clothes: I don’t know what a vampire wears, so I’m just going to say… a 1870s outfit, I guess. The colors are mostly white with red accents.

Hair color: Dark brown with grey highlights
Clothes: Literally what his brother wears, just with black and green instead.

Clothes:Black eyeshadow underneath his eyes. A white cloak that covers most of his body with purple pads stitched on. A purple long-sleeved shirt underneath his cloak. Black ripped skinny jeans. White and purple shoes.

Eye color: Black, no whites or pupils. (But when he gets mad or has a panic attack, they glow and turn white. He also can’t handle sunlight, so he rarely takes off his sunglasses)

Clothes:Black sunglasses. White wrap shirt. Black cloak. Black pants. White shoes.
Emile -
Species:Imp
Skin color: Light pink. Has freckles.
Eye color: Black, no whites or pupils.
Hair color: Light brown
Clothes: White button-up shirt, brown-knitted vest, blue jeans, pink shoes. Black rimmed glasses. Red horns and red sharp tail.
