[ID: a sketch of Ireena from Not Another D&D podcast; she is a young woman with long straight hair, pointed ears, and small tusks, gazing upward at three glowing sprites with round bodies and butterfly-like wings. She wears a patchwork cloak with the hood down. The sketch is in dark green and with pale highlights on a spring green background. End ID]

rip dance saw, you’ll be dancing in my heart forever

ID: a digital portrait of Dance Saw from Not Another DnD Podcast, a green skinned demon with bright purplish-pink hair. She is flipping off the viewer and snarling with her mouth open and purple tongue sticking out. Her hair is medium length, cut choppily, and it flips up to the right in an anime style. She has black scelera and red irises. She wears a choker necklace, wristbands, a mesh shirt, tongue piercing, and small gauges in her ears, all of which are black. She also has short black horns, one of which has the tip broken off. The lines of the drawing are bright red and black. The background is speckled gray with red and purple graffiti illustrating a cartoonish barbed tail and hearts above it. On the left, sideways graffiti reads, “Dance Saw,” with a barbed tail added to the end of the “S” and devil horns one either side of “Saw.” End ID.

Does anyone know what number episode Fia’s “Sometimes I wonder, did you want me to braid your hair and that’s why you never learned?” line is from? I have not been able to stop thinking about it and I just want to hear it again

Fun fact about the Shadowfell Animatic- for some reason one of the images got cut out and I just didn’t notice it till now? Luckily it didn’t mess with any of the timing (hence my not noticing it’s absence), but here!

It’s supposed to play during the first chorus’s “…please try to understand” after Hardwon is killed by Scarlet. Honestly not even a huge fan of this shot so I can’t say I mind that it’s gone, just thought it was interesting and that I’d share it here!

[ID: a digital drawing of Hardwon Surefoot and Deadeye Cybin. Hardwon is in the foreground, laying on the floor, limp. He is being dragged out of a door by Deadeye, who pulls him by the legs. The image is mostly in greyscale, except for some red blood on Hardwon’s chest and face. End ID.]

Okay listen this is incredibly stupid but ever since Rainbow Factory played on a shuffle playlist while I was doodling Lucanus I realized that Gladeholm is just Cloudsdale and if I have to live with that knowledge then so do y’all.

[ID: a digital sketch of Erdan. The sketch is mostly black and white, but some parts are colored. He’s an elf with curly hair shown from the chest up, wearing a button up shirt, vest, a bracer, and glasses. His face is covered in popped green blisters and his neck has a huge bruise all over it. He leans back and raises a hand, which glows with purple and blue magic, as he looks down and to the left.

There are three speech bubbles to his left. The first is Erdan speaking and it reads: “It’s easy to misjudge that floating city with its alluring decor and social psychology. But with all great things comes a great responsibility…”.

The second speech bubble, said by an off screen Beverly and written in cursive, reads: “Dude are you quoting Rainbow Factory-“

In the last bubble, Erdan replies: “Shut up it works.” End ID.]

Zirk’s elaborated backstory gives me Taako Adventurezone vibes and oh no I’m sad about it

Scramble boi does not like being a fluffy boi

[ID: A digital drawing of Moonshine, Beverly, Hardwon, and Pawpaw from Naddpod, relaxing in a bathroom with towels wrapped around their hair. Moonshine sits on the side of the tub, gleefully blowing a hairdryer at Pawpaw who is aggressively yapping at it. Hardwon sits on the floor with his leg up in front of Bev, who is sitting on the back of the toilet with is feet on the fuzzy seat cover. Beverly is painting gold designs on Hardwon’s foot and lower leg. Hardwon’s long beard is braided, and he strokes it while looking in the mirror. There is a decorative sign on the back wall that says, “Pelor bless this hole,” over a stylized hobbit hole door, designed to look like the sun. Each of them wear comfy shorts, with Moonshine and Hardwon in crop tops and Bev in an oversized tee shirt. Moonshine is an elf, Hardwon is a human, Bev is a halfling, and Pawpaw is a possum. i wish i was more excited about the new naddpod campaign. i know it’ll be great because it’s them, and their creative choices and chemistry are unparalleled, but i can’t help feeling a little disappointed that they’re returning to bahumia. it makes me suspect that they saw more of a dropoff in listener numbers with eldermourne than expected, and felt pressure to do the ttrpg podcast version of playing the hits.

don’t get me wrong, murph’s plans for what the world will look like, and everyone else’s ideas about the kinds of characters they’ll play, are intriguing and delightful, and i’ll absolutely be there with bells on to listen to every episode. maybe it’s just that i loved eldermourne more than bahumia because i caught up with bahumia at the final couple of episodes, so listening to eldermourne week to week felt like “my” era of naddpod. i’ve said a few times that bahumia felt more generic fantasy to me than the much more specific eldermourne, and i’ve been bored with generic fantasy for decades: but of course the timeskip means that there are increasing specifics, and starting by taking a bunch of familiar locations off the map is a great way to really differentiate the campaign.

this isn’t meant to be a strong note of opposition or displeasure. on balance i’m much more excited than not. and i’m posting it here, where few people will read it, because i don’t want to kill anyone’s buzz, especially not people who felt bad about not being able to get into eldermourne and are ecstatic to return to a setting they have emotional attachment to.

literally nearing tears at work thinking about the second Emily Axford PC constant (after them being gay, that is): the need of community and fear of isolation/abandonment. Moonshine thrives in her communities but is terrified to take the throne in hell from Pendergreens. Fig plays the “I’m so isolated” as a bit but he biggest fear is being left behind while a persona of herself takes her place. Saccharina was abandoned and felt so cold and alone, yet found comfort in her team and Cinnamon. Sophia is left by Dale and that LITERALLY destroys her which sends her narrative into motion. Even Onyx feels uncomfortable with how she left her brothers. Simply, I am terrified to see what Fia - an isolated, alone witch without community - is going to emotionally put me through
