honestly how fucking dare they make netossa and spinnerella side characters with barely any lines, like in s2 all the other princesses seem to do everything together and are preaching about how the princesses need to use their powers together and all that, but like why did no one stop and think “hold on we would be even stronger if we had the rest of the princesses in the alliance with us”. Like theres no reason for them not to be in the episodes with the other princesses! are netflix or dreamworks just too scared to make the show too gay or something?
I’m going to start with a few relationships. Spinnerella and Netossa own my entire heart, I loved how they were encorporated into the show more this season because I love them so much, and their relationship is so pure. Scorpia and Perfuma, I’m not saying there’s a romantic relationship, but they do care a lot about each other and it’s adorable. I wish we could have seen more of Kyle and Rogelio together, or just that whole team in general, but I’m still okay with it. Along with this, Seahawk and Mermista. I really don’t know how to explain this one, I just love them so much. Seahawks “Because I love you, dearest”, sent me to a ninth realm. And Mermista admitting to setting a ship on fire? Love it.
I’m so happy that Bow and Glimmer were on good terms again. They have the best friendship and I missed seeing them just be kids together, because they are technically still kids. They’re just so pure and they’ve been through so much and I love it.
Now obviously, the elephant in the room- Catra and Adora. Oh my god they BROKE ME. Every time they were both in a scene I’d back it up and watch it again because there were so many subtle things they did to show they cared. Match that up with Catra’s character development (Which was incredible, by the way,) and it was the best thing ever. They were so gentle with one another and cared so much about the other persons safety, I was sobbing the majority of the time.
I love the way they did this season. They encorporated so many personal journeys and focused more on Adora than on Shera, which was amazing. This season was more torturous and breathtaking and horrible and wonderful than I ever thought it was going to be, and the fact that I won’t see them again breaks my heart.
Also, the scene where Shadow weaver stays behind to save them, I was sitting on my bed openly weeping and just quietly asked myself “I don’t even like her, why am I sad?” If you can make me cry over a character that I utterly despise, well then that’s some good writing.
All in all, this was one of the best shows I’ve ever watched and although I’m insanely upset it’s coming to an end, I’m’ glad I was able to watch it at all. The show changed a lot about how I percieve myself and the world around me, as dramatic as it sounds, and I will never forget this amazing, Lesbian loving show.
