Forester Pass, the highest point on the PCT at 4000m. We made it over before the first snow of the season hit. But only just, it snowed for the rest of the day and we had to de-ice the tent in -6 degree weather the following morning. If only it was all downhill from here to Mexico…

Soaking our feet on lunch before heading up to another 12000ft Pass. My feet are swollen now, they seem to be a size bigger and I feel like an old man taking those first few steps in the morning!

The high Sierra was easily my favourite section of trail, through Yosemite, Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. It was tough to get 25 miles in each day but we managed it. On the section before I didn’t have enough food. This section was my biggest ever food carry at 8 days and I packed around 4500 calories for every day to fuel me through.
