Intanto vi mostro Lerici, questa piccola località di mare della Liguria che trovo davvero un incanto.
Viene definita la Perla del Golfo dei Poeti, poiché descritta e ammirata da grandissimi artisti di tutte le epoche: Dante Alighieri la cita nel Purgatorio, i poeti del Gran Tour come Byron, Shelley, la moglie Mary e David Lawrence non ne hanno soltanto parlato, bensì vi hanno soggiornato e vissuto.

W I N E E X P E R I E N C E // Ho trascorso due giorni pieni tra storie, scoperte, buon vino ed esperienze indimenticabili. A partire dal rafting in canoa sul canale dell’Adige per poi arrivare a percorrere 15 km in bici sulla ciclabile che da Dolcè in Veneto arriva fino in Trentino. La ciclabile che passa tra le vigne di Albino Armani, viticoltori dal 1607, con soste interessanti alla scoperta di vigneti centenari come la Foja Tonda.
Sono stati giorni in cui ho avuto il piacere di conoscere a fondo e restare colpito dai vini che l’azienda produce. La compagnia impeccabile di Albino e Agle, che con passione ci hanno raccontato la ricerca e la produzione dei loro vini, oltre ad essere presenti in tutte le attività: davvero grazie siete stati fantastici!
Anche se poco esperto, sono rimasto colpito dalla bontà del loro Pinot Grigio ed è stato commuovente per me poter gustare una bottiglia del 1998. Estremamente interessante inoltre è stata la degustazione verticale del Foja Tonda dove siamo partiti da una bottiglia del 2017 fino ad arrivare al 2003, un vino rosso prodotto da vitigni centenari. Infine sono rimasto incantato dalla bellezza della loro cantina a Marano in Valpolicella, un luogo di un incanto unico, qui dove il nostro tour è giunto al termine con una magnifica serata jazz, al tramonto, con dell’ottimo vino, del buon cibo e vista pazzesca dall’alto sulla valle. Insomma, che bello rientrare a casa con un’esperienza e una storia in più da raccontare…

2017 Eclipse
3 years ago today, I got to witness one of those rare astronomical events that leaves everyone awestruck - a total eclipse. This is a composite of several photos I took that day outside Lusk, Wyoming. I had one camera set up taking wide landscape shots and one camera with a telephoto lens and special filter to keep the sun from burning up my sensor. I wanted the landscape to convey the feeling I got during the totality - a cold night-like sky, the distant clouds and horizon had a warmer early dusk vibe, and the ground had very flat and dull light, which we usually don’t like in photography, but here, it represents how it actually was.

I’m glad to see Gramafon Baba (Mehmet Öztekin), Istanbul’s last gramophone repairman, is still going at it. I took this photo of him in his little shop at the Grand Bazaar about 5 years ago.
