I’m bringing several small paintings to the convention, as many as I can get finished up in the next few days. Here’s just a sampling of what I’ll have, I’ll work to try and post a few more as they get wrapped up in the next few days. Works are inks and acrylics on paper, some of them old prints experimented on and reworked into something new, all various sizes.

I’m proud of this new print: “Witness,” an image I’ve been working on for the last several months. It’s finally available in printed form by the aces at @staticmedium (thanks Leah and crew!).
The archival giclée print measures 18”x18,” printed on Moab Entrada 100% cotton rag. It exists in two colorways: “Aubergine” and “Vidirdian” (shown in order). Aubergine comes in a limited edition of 100 (only 75 available at DesignerCon) for $100 each. Viridian has an edition size of 60 (only 45 available at the convention) for $120 each. Strict limit of no more than two of each per person/household.

In addition, I’ll have hand embellished versions available of each colorway, and will be hand embellishing them live during my live painting sessions (schedule coming soon). They will be available for $275 and $285 respectively, strict limit of only ONE per person. I’ll have about 4 on hand for the convention, plus a few extra done in the live painting sessions.

Part 2 of my @designercon exclusives at booth 1013.

The next two in the Lepidoptera series: Lepidoptera 8 “Mycelium” and Lepidoptera 9: “Viper” will be first available at the convention this coming Friday.
The archival giclée prints measure 10”x8” on cold press natural cotton rag, expertly printed by @davecorreia, who has done all of my Lepidoptera prints to date (thank you Dave). The prints are a limited edition of 200, each print signed and numbered.

These will be available as a set of one of each print, for $90. There will be a strict limit of two sets MAX per person for those purchasing on behalf of someone else. Full details on purchase limits for the convention in upcoming newsletter. There will be 150 sets available at Dcon, with the remainders available in a post-convention online drop.

I am woefully behind on announcing all I’ll have for sale for the rapidly approaching @designercon (opening this Friday, November 12—14 at the Anaheim Convention Center) so bear with me as I try to parcel out some of the exclusives over the next few days.

First up are my artist copies of my recent @311 gig poster. “Recent” is a relative term- the gig was in August, I *think* that delay counts as normal in the current world climate? Either way, the prints will be available exclusively at my booth (1013), starting on VIP night: Friday Nov 12.
.
My artist variants come in two colorways: Ice and Fire: my super creative naming scheme referring to the tones of each colorway.
Prints are limited edition on paper, holographic rainbow foil and gold foil, in addition to a super limited (only two each!) amount of hand embellished prints on paper. The prints turned out fantastic, a special thank you for the incredible care and attention to detail taken by the stellar crew at @endhymns. They do excellent work. Pricing, quantities, purchase limits and daily availability will go out in the newsletter and on my website soon.

We walked from Canada to Mexico! 2650 miles in exactly 4 months. We faced insane bugs, relentless heat, river crossings, smoke from fires, 30 mile water carries, high altitude, the desert and the weight of 8 days of food. We saw bears, tarantulas, a mountain lion and were rattled and hissed at by rattlesnakes. By the end, we hiked before sunrise, got to camp after dark and my body and feet made me feel like an old man. But for 4 months we got to live our values - treading lightly on the planet, close to nature and living simply. We had new horizons every day, beautiful sunsets and starry nights. We got to be part of an amazing community of people walking south on the trail and saw the kindness of humanity through people that gave us rides, trail magic or put us up in their homes. PCT 2018, thanks for the memories.

We’re in Julian! Three days and 77 miles to go to the border. Not as wild as our usual camp spots - cowboy camping outside the deli! We’re in the famous pie shop at the moment eating our free pie for doing this crazy hike. Can’t believe this adventure is nearly over.

As the nights draw in we’ve been night hiking most days. Usually we get up at 5.15am, start at 6am and are still hiking by 7pm. Sometimes it’s annoying but sometimes it’s beautiful, like seeing this moon rise as we walked along the lake.

Quite a few things could hurt us in the desert. Cactus are easy to avoid, sometimes a few ninja moves are required to get around poison oak and poodle dog bush.

The desert would be so much harder without water cache’s left by local ‘trail angels’. We still have sections around 25 miles with no water, but it’s better than 40! It means we need to carefully plan each day more than before.

Forester Pass, the highest point on the PCT at 4000m. We made it over before the first snow of the season hit. But only just, it snowed for the rest of the day and we had to de-ice the tent in -6 degree weather the following morning. If only it was all downhill from here to Mexico…

The high Sierra was easily my favourite section of trail, through Yosemite, Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. It was tough to get 25 miles in each day but we managed it. On the section before I didn’t have enough food. This section was my biggest ever food carry at 8 days and I packed around 4500 calories for every day to fuel me through.
