Isn’t it wonderful when one article of clothing just makes you feel fantastic?! This skirt from Club Monaco always does it for me. It finally cooled down in NYC on Monday with some rain and heavy clouds, and while I probably would be a bit bummed because the weather isn’t as sunny as I would like it to be, this skirt just makes me smile :-). Look at it! It’s bright, it’s cheery, it’s flowy, how can you NOT be happy wearing it?! My feet were wet, my purse was wet, my hair was frizzing, but I must have been the happiest girl just strolling along Midtown heading back home from work. Yeah, it’s that kind of skirt.

I know this is long overdue, but better late than never. Friday was gloomy and cold in NYC, and quite frankly, I was feeling under the weather myself. This outfit is great for a chilly summer day, because the trench doesn’t have sleeves and the blouse is thin. This is also my work wear. In Wall St., they can tell who’s obviously not from there if the person isn’t wearing a suit, so this is my attempt on business professional haha.
Sleeveless Trench - Store in Singapore
Striped Button Up - Forever 21
Jeans - Bullhead
Slingback Pumps - Nine West
My inspiration today was the Jil Sander Spring 2011 collection. So simple, yet elegant and breezy, and a flower in your hair is the perfect touch for a tropical country like Singapore. Of course, when I go back home to NYC, I will definitely be wearing this outfit in the city. This look actually goes well for both day and night, depending on what it is you’re doing.
