It has been many years since I “played” in the sprinklers. The other day, I went out to water my hanging plants and the sprinklers were on. I decided to water them, anyway, since I was naked and would not be getting any clothes wet.
It was invigorating and I really enjoyed the water hitting me all over. Afterwards, I just laid out in the sun to dry. It felt GREAT!
I was going to water them today but the sprinklers do not come on until tomorrow.
I will wait!

As a member of many nudist communities I gain insight from a large number of people. I’ve come to realize that no two nudist are made the same. When I say this the first thing that comes to mind is what….body type. No one is exactly the same shape, size, etc as the next person. Though this is true, I’ve come to understand that nudist have very different opinions about what it actually means to be a nudist. People have different reasons for starting to practice nudism and I’ve noticed a strong difference in beliefs. This shouldn’t be a shock, because nudist come in all shapes, sizes, ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientations, ages, and religions. While on sites, blogs and chats, there always seems to be one person who feels like it is their duty to preach about how nudism and sexuality have to be seperate. They tend to think that there is no place for anything sexual in nudist spaces. Then there’s always someone who clearly is on the wrong site. If you check out their profile, there’s all kinds of lewd pictures showing off one’s sexual skills. I guess I’m curious about the grey area. Although I do believe that the human body (especially the black human body) is over sexualized and should be allowed to be free through nudism, I also believe that it isn’t the job of any one person to determine what is considered nudism or not. I also believe it is every nudists responsibility to promote positive images of what it’s like in our communities.
Nudism is all about self awareness and learning to love your body.
Exhibitionism, which is viewed as a nudist’s evil step brother/sis is for folks who enjoy being seen naked by others. The more sexual side.
The question is can both exist within the greater nudist universe?
I’ve heard people say that the nudist lifestyle was appealing to them because they felt free for the first time. I have to admit the first time I attended my first nudist event, I was surprised by how free I felt. I often wonder why I hadn’t tried it sooner. So I guess for those who view being a nudist as a freeing and liberating experience, how can we then turn around and shun those who mix nudism and sexuality because they enjoy being free? Are some ideas and values more important than others?
On the other hand, the over sexualization of the human body has given nudism negative stereotypes and connotations. If you were to google nudist right now, I’m sure you’d see a bunch of raunchy dick pics and people having sex on beaches. This definitely gives people the wrong idea of what nudist are truly about. I’ve been going to nudist events in Saint Louis, Missouri for two years now. Although the events are mixed and there are many ladies around, I find that it is rare to see guys walking around erect. But when I ask people to attend events with me, the first thing that they think is that there will be horny guys walking around with hard ons poking out. This is just not the case most of the time.
Also, nudism is open to people of all ages. Many of my nudist friends have children and have shared that they are raising their little ones to embrace the culture. Because children can be nudists too, I think that there safety and innocence should be protected at all times. Exposing children to the naked body is one thing. Exposing them to a full out orgy is another! I can respect those who feel the two (nudism and sexuality) should be seperate to protect the innocent.
I’m no expert in all things nudism/naturism. I’m still learning new things everyday as I speak to others who are more experienced. My attempt with this post is to look at two opposing perspectives and simply to start an honest coversation. Most nudist will tell you the naked body is the most natural thing we have. Others may say our sexuality is the second. If this is the case, how do we move forward and have this conversation without totally shunning the other perspective.
