Yes…I know I have been MIA all summer! It would be shameful if I was doing nothing but life has been extremely crazy busy this summer with projects, yard work, family, and trips. I am not complaining. All of that has been wonderful. I am happy to be very blessed but I do want to get back to more of what I love the most. Designing and painting home decor items. All proceeds will go to The Trevor Project which helps with crisis intervention, suicide prevention and helps give safe, judgement-free spaces for LGBTQIA+ youth. They have multiple methods to communicate with struggling youths, including phone calls, text messaging, and chat messaging. And it’s completely confidential! They aim to give LGBTQIA+ youths and their families a safe place to connect with others, get help and information. So check them out as well!

Birth certificates should record legal parenthood. Parents need the choice to register according to their legal gender or gender neutrally. The gender neutral ‘parent’ label should be available to anyone to choose.
Children must be able to know their genetic make-up and who gave birth to them.
This could be made clear or included on the certificate, or recorded separately.
UK birth registration is outdated and discriminatory.
All legal parents, including through surrogacy, must be recognised from conception and allowed to register on their child’s birth certificate.
Key issues:
– Only heterosexual, cisgender parents can register accurately as “mother” or “father”
– Children born to transgender parents or through surrogacy have inaccurate birth certificates. Trans parents cannot register as their legal gender but must register as their sex assigned at birth, even if they have a Gender Recognition Certificate and therefore, an updated birth certificate
– The definition of “parent” in the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act is extremely narrow and gender-specific
Anyone living in the UK and any British citizen living overseas can sign.The deadline is 8 June 2022.
