#nuzlocke
So, I attempted a Pokemon Diamond (not Brilliant) Nuzlocke last night. It lasted about half an hour. I started with Sun the Chimchar, knocked out a Starly on route 201, caught a Kricketot named Viola on 202, lost Sun to Bide from another Kricketot, and ended up with just Viola. To her credit, she survived for a good while. I tried to leave Jubilife to catch another Pokemon (since she only knew Growl and Bide after several level-ups) but lost to Barry. Still, she managed to take out his Starly and make a dent in Piplup!
The lesson: Never underestimate Kricketot.
I actually got back into my SoulSilver Nuzlocke this past weekend. After a whole lot of training, Woody the Sudowoodo was all set to take out Morty’s Gengar, as he was the only Pokemon on my team with a Dark-type move. I had been training Aether the Eevee for that purpose, but he won’t learn Bite until level 29, and I got bored fighting wild Raticates and Meowths.
Anyway, Woody was at level 27, and I felt pretty confident. I used Brand (my Quilava) to take out Gastly. Then, Gengar came out. I sent out Woody who managed to get an attack in before being brutally twoshotted…..yeah.
I was feeling genuinely nervous as I sent out Mei, my Flaafy. She was at level 24 at the time, but she was my best chance. She paralyzed Gengar with ThunderWave and, after some chipping, managed to beat it. Brand came back out and took care of the Haunters, and we got the Fog Badge!
It was a shame losing Woody after all that training. He was a big help in getting little Aether up to a decent level, and his move variety will be missed.
After getting the Fog Badge, I started training Mei in the Olivine Lighthouse, and she got to level 30 and evolved into Ampharos. With all the battles she’s won, and with how much of a beast she is after evolving, I think it’s safe to call her the MVP of the team. I’m also working on getting Turniphead the Gloom up in levels, as I anticipate him being my primary tank at the Cianwood Gym.
So, I came up with a Pokemon Legends: Arceus-specific Nuzlocke, which I’m calling the Alphalocke.
Rule 1: If a Pokemon faints, it dies. (obv)
Rule 2: If the player is knocked out, game over.
Rule 3: While you can catch all the Pokemon you want for the Dex, you can only use your starter and Alphas on your team. (If you want to go hardcore, forbid use of the starter outside the required early battles, and use only items and balls to catch your first Alpha.)
Rule 4: No Respawn Resurrections- If you fail to catch an Alpha that has a set spawn point (example: the Rapidash in Obsidian Fieldlands) or lose it to fainting, you can’t go back to that area to replace the lost Pokemon. You can, however, catch the same species if it’s in a different area, or spawns in a space-time distortion.
Other limitations or allowance can obviously be added, like giving the player a set number of chances for boss fights or forbidding the use of bought items and only crafting, but those are the base rules.
What do ya’ll think?
Thank you guys SO MUCH for 10 years!!! Here’s to more adventure!! I Love you all! <3
Here’s a valentines thing I did for Twitter. Since I’m posting art here again, you guys can see it too!
THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN…
MEGA KICK YOUR ASS INTO THE MILKY WAY (MILKY WAY)
Decided to draw one of my mons from my current nuzlocke run of Platinum~
I like to make up little personalities and backstories for the pokémons I use in nuzlockes, for fun and so that I suffer more when they eventually die!
Her name is Gina God Hand - she’s very physically weak and not very bright, especially for a psychic type but her dream is becoming the strongest fighting type in all of Sinnoh…. somehow. She fights with punches and kicks and obviously doesn’t do any real damage with them, but what happens is she accidentally activates her psychic powers whenever she hits another pokémon, so that’s how she manages to beat them!
Like, she lands a kick in the enemy’s head and it does nothing, but without realizing it she uses Psychic and their brain m e l t s, and she’s like “YEAH I DID IT I’M THE STRONGEST”
……..anyway, rambling over syrjdsyrjdg Maybe I’ll draw my other babies, who knows~
(Also trying out a new signature)
