I’m trying to hone my visual storytelling skills after getting some feedback at IAMAG conference last week. Still at a loss as to how to come up with these kinds of things, and how to do this in a bigger project, but right now just taking it day by day!
My studies finally showing up with results! It’s the first time trying something on this level. As always, still a lot to learn, and it took me a crapload of time, but I’m really happy about it ^3^
A piece I’ve done for a college exam. We got to choose a school of art and make a piece inspired by it (drawing, painting, sculpture, whatever). So I decided to make this digital painting inspired on Dali’s surrealism, not by his painting techniques but because he used to paint his dreams, fears, desires and stuff, so I tried to do the same thing. Also, he had his “tutorials” on how to be creative by interrupting his sleep and “wake up inspired”. I don’t interrupt any of my sleep because I have a dream issue (I like them a lot and don’t wanna miss any of it) and I’m terrible at taking little naps, but I feel a lot more creative just right after I wake up. Like, wake up, take my pill, drink something, and start drawing. So inspired by that, this piece not only represents some of my dreams and pleasures and desires, but was actually mostly done within 3 mornings right when I woke up. I could explain the elements it contains, but I believe that - unless you are curious and ask for it - the meaning of a piece belongs more to the spectator than to the artist after its released to the world!
geez looking at old artwork really reminds me how inspired and interesting my stuff used to be, like younger me rly had some creative ideas popping out - I should upload some of my OC stuff after a few more fanarts I gotta post

I dunno if anyone saw me post the first image the other day, but I had this idea for a Hetalia AU about a curious robot England. At first it was 2p, but then I changed my mind to 1p…lol
His creator was an inventor who lost their love at a young age and spent their life creating a robot version of him. However, they realize their mistake that a replica would not replace their love. No matter how identical it is. In a fit of grief and rage, the elderly inventor shuts down the robot and destroys its face. They then passes away, leaving deactivated robo Arthur to rust. Years later, he is reactivated…
