i have this strange feeling that i’m not myself anymore. it’s hard to put into words, but i guess it’s like i was fast asleep, and someone came, disassembled me, and hurriedly put me back together again. that sort of feeling.
feels like there’s some Symbolism concerning inspector “born inside a jail” javert being held captive & in many adaptations badly beaten by les amis, most of whom come from rich backgrounds

Dracula Daily - dracula, the one that started it all || real time
Greetings to everybody, I would like to share a little analysis about this gorgeous illustration.
I have always known Hino sensei puts hidden messages in her illustrations and I’ve noticed several in this beautiful one. But this time I want to emphasize one thing in particular. Ok, lets go;
What caught my eye hardly was the amount of glass jars with roses on them, must be at least 10 (those that can be counted) and that makes me meditate when Kaname gave Yuuki a rose as a gift, when he went on a trip. Kaname said to Yuuki the rose blooms every 10 years, even in a hard season, in this case winter. He gave Yuuki a rose encased in resin. At that moment Yuuki doesn’t understand the meaning of this gift till the moment she is awakened by Kaname and her memories come back. That moment, Yuuki remembered a promise made by Kaname when they were children. Kaname promises her to bring a rose, a special one, that bloom only once every 10 years, because Yuuki was forbidden to go out from Kuran Manor and she couldn’t see the flower fields by herself, besides that her parents were hiding her from Rido. This item became so important that it was the only one Yuuki took when left Cross Academy to go live with Kaname. A year later, there was a moment when Kaname walked away for a few days and Yuuki saw the rose, making her remember how deeply was her desire for Kaname’s blood.
In my opinión, in relation to Hino’s illustration, I think she wants to show us that probably Yuuki made the same promise to Kaname, bringing him the same rose that bloom only once every 10 years, since he was in a deep sleep and couldn’t see the flower fields for himself.
As you can see, there are many glass jars with roses, and the escenary gives the impression that Yuuki went methodically to pick a rose that bloom only once every 10 years for her loved one. If we make an analogy “roses’’ is “time” and if there are 10 roses, it means 100 years and that thousand of “memories”. That is why there are roses in the cover of the album that Kaname holds, given to him by Ai and Ren.
Hope you like this little analysis, and I would like to know what you think about this and if you would like me to do another analysis, I would be delighted. Comments and critics are welcome! Have a nice day.
And btw, I’m deeply sorry for my english. Some verbs are hard for me.
like, almost ten years ago I saw an original stage adaption* of the novel that was so good I stillthink about it, so in honor of all the dracula posting going on: the scene from the play that fundamentally changed something in me at age 17.
*it was created to compete in a regional theater competition so alas, it mostly exists in the memory of those who got to see it that year and also in the handful of photos I have from that production on an old flash drive
