Early character iterations for Suki, the main character of “Cat Mask”- a superhero story set in Hong Kong. For most of my sketches I wanted to explore an asian heroine we don’t often represent in media, taking into account body types and age.
A new story I’m quietly developing on the side called “Cat Mask”! A superhero story set in Hong Kong. Our heroine, Suki, is a girl who finds a magical cat mask that can turn her into whatever cat she desires- big or small. She uses the mask to search for her brother, who she believes was taken by the triads.
Deals with complex family relationships and the struggles of the Indo-Chinese community in Hong Kong.
Well then. Permission to whinge? I just ended a truly painful and shitty day with finding out I didn’t get the job I interviewed for. (I was qualified, had the right experience, and had spent a whole week prepping so I don’t quite know how I managed to mess it up, but never mind.)
