I think it’s a Paph? Kinda looks like a Phrag, but the rounded leaf tips, the red speckles, and the thick fuzzy Paph-like roots…
it didn’t come with a tag, but it did come with mealybugs that for some reason I didn’t think to check for until after I got it home, aaaaaaaargh! (you can’t see any in the picture, though, because I wiped off all the visible ones with alcohol) AND as far as treatments go, I’m limited to what’s safe to use in a house with birds

had to break off all the healthy leaves because rot :(
guess I’ll see what I can get them to do
the one water-rooted one is doing very well, though still has yet to actually start a new plantlet
this is the one with green flowers so I really want to keep it going

no one told the bromeliad a hard freeze was supposed to kill it
it actually doesn’t seem to have been harmed at all, as far as I can tell
(it looks pretty scruffy in person, but it was already like that when my mom found it, because someone had thrown it away)

Accidentally broke a leaf off the African violet and am now attempting to propagate it. It’s been in there with that other plant for almost 2 weeks now.

I got this African violet… sometime in the summer. From Lowe’s, for like $4. I went for it because a) I thought it might be one of these awesome space violets since it’s so weirdly frilly, and b) I’d never seen an African violet with green flowers before.
So last night I finally went to the Optimara site to find the cultivar, and… turns out this is mySensation, a new and rare cultivar, and apparently the only green one, which explains why I’d never seen one before!
Also, is that a sucker there? Where it’s pushing the flower stalks apart?

A mystery Dracaena thing I’ve had for a few months. It was all green when I got it, and as you can see, it turns purple in high light. And it’s got that looooong stalk with that cute little pup at the end. Anyone know what it is?
