Tumblr

Tumblr

Goodbye summer

Anyone who knows me, knows how much I love animals and cant get close enough. Hands down, the best zoo I have ever been to! No idea how I got some of these shots of the crocodile but I would have climbed in with that gorgeous tiger if anyone would have let me.

Photo: Mother Polar Bear Nursing Her Cub

Photographer caption: I was on an extreme expedition with my brother and daughter in East Greenland where our mission was to document the natural history with dog sleds as our only means of transport. We joined two locals, Izak and Age, from Ittoqqortoormiit on their journey to Jameson Land. Earlier this morning, the wind speed dropped, and the dogs became restless. To Izak, these are the tell-tale signs of a polar bear in the vicinity, and we soon find two sets of tracks. Polar bears amble at around 5km per hour, but it isn’t until the sun sets that a mother bear revealed her cub to us.

buy-skulls:

I love my Inuit and Inupaiq friends!

This polar bear parka was made by my friend Thomas Napageak in Nuiqsuit, Alaska.

This bear was sustenance hunted legally and sustainably, with the meat being eaten and the fur, obviously, being used as well!

Today is Friday, tomorrow is 2022! We hope your new year is a splendid one.

This December, we’re helping raise money for Polar Bear International. Spread the word! If you’re in the US or Canada and have a few extra bucks, throw some their way. They’re doing good work to protect some good bears.
