Portraits At The Pub 20: Jules

Portraits At The Pub 20: Jules

For my 20th Portraits at the Pub we had another PATP model that like Rick we had just before the first Lockdown – Jules! As before I started with ink drawings in the A4 sketchbook, including a post that was the mirror of last time but drawn far better! I was using the Evergood french flex vintage pen, a recent purchase and refurb – only £17 on eBay, fixed by myself with a new ink sac fitted. It’s…

Portraits At The Pub - Kate

Portraits At The Pub – Kate

Last session of the year, and we had Kate sitting for us. As usually a mixture of styles, only did three pieces but luckily all three were keepers. Wasn’t totally happy with the large Neocolor 2 piece ‘Starry Night’ this time, but I liked the face and the wine glass. And another good white on black drawing – this time with a chunky Woody Pencil! Portraits at the Pub 18: Ian

Portraits at the Pub 18: Ian

I am working, currently on Abstract Advent for the whole of December to kick my working back in gear…and also attending Portraits at the Pub every two weeks. The last but one was with a woman I think was called Jackie or…

Portraits At The Pub - Trudie

Portraits At The Pub – Trudie

After a month away from Portraits At The Pub, it was a little scary – mostly because next to Trudie was the resident Lamb Skeleton (yes they have one) dressed in Halloween attire of a top hat and weirdly a heart cushion in their rib cage. I guess it’s the skeleton’s favourite time of year! Trudie was wearing her wedding dress, so it looked like some spooky wedding so the first drawing was a nod…

Portraits At The Pub 14 - Joe

Portraits At The Pub 14 – Joe

The second of the restarted Portraits At The Pub at The Lamb, and this time it was the golden locks of Joe we were drawing. I took Martin’s usual spot since he and several of the usuals were away, and didn’t notice that I got profiles all night! I found it hard to get into this one – the classic ‘resemblance’ hole was hard to work my way out, even when I switched mediums. I just couldn’t get him…
