26 years ago, the first episode of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers premiered on the Fox Kids Network and the Power Rangers franchise was created. The franchise is still alive and well after 26 different seasons, 3 theatrical films with the most recent being Saban’s Power Rangers from 2017, 2 very successful comic books from Boom! Studios and a multitude of toy lines from Bandai of America and now Hasbro, it’s very hard to believe that the Power Rangers franchise has lasted as long as it has.

A very huge thanks to Haim Saban for the concept of Power Rangers as well as all of the cast and crew through the years for making this franchise what it is today and a huge very special thanks to Toei Company Ltd. for supplying the Japanese footage from the Super Sentai Series.

And a very special thanks to Stan Lee, the creator of many popular characters in the Marvel Comics universe for trying to bring Super Sentai to America. https://www.inverse.com/article/50806-stan-lee-and-marvel-almost-produced-power-rangers-toei-super-sentai

Gosei Ground

Popped up cheap, and I bought it. I’ve been pondering getting this and Datas for a while. I mostly wanted this one, though, just because I thought the Gosei Knight Header was really cool. It’s also always fun to get another combination. I recently pulled everyone off the wall and dusted them (after these photos were shot), and just putting everyone together and doing all the different modes I don’t usually display them as was a lot of fun. I also own way too many extra Kiramei toys.

The Good: Groundleon is a lot of fun. Big, chunky, and does quite a bit when transforming. Gosei Knight is also really cool. He has a bit of posability, and three different modes with the head mode having two configurations for whichever formation he’s in. Definitely the standout of the three.

Also, because of how the Headers work, it allows for a bit of customization, which is always appreciated with how rigid Sentaicombos usually are.

The Bad: The only real downside to this set is Sealeon and Skyleon are kinda boring? They’re solid chunks of mecha, but they do very little compared to how much Groundleon does. There’s also the forgivable eyesore that is the Header port belly button as Ground Gosei Great.

Overall, a very fun companion piece to Gosei Great. It might not be as fun on its own, but together they’re a fun pair. I’d like to eventually get Datas, too, and see if there are any combinations that could be made with the three of them.
