I feel like I’ve gotta make the most out of the time I have left with them in the garden; I’ve started to find lots of dead ones on the ground, because winter is on its way!

The courgettes were my big failure this season. I grew a mixed variety from seed, started them early, planted them in the ground with lots of worm castings and other goodness, then… nothing. They just stopped growing. It’s probably just from not enough water: this past summer has been ridiculously dry. We’ve had two, maybe three pathetic little ones, but that’s it! From like, eight plants! Ah well, next year I’ll try planting them somewhere else and hope for the best.
