The flowers are coming along nicely. I always forget how much I love my irises until May comes around again. The first clematis bloom is fully open now, and the false indigo is getting super close to blooming. And I swear the peony will bloom any day now!

And the peony is so close! I also have a few flower heads on the coneflowers, but those take forever to open.
Three-cornered garlic (Allium triquetrum). Pretty, but the most widespread and persistent weed in our garden.

Allium timeline
Allium is a genus of monocotyledonous flowering plants that includes hundreds of species, including the cultivated onion, garlic, scallion, shallot, leek, and chives. The generic name Allium is the Latin word for garlic.
Gorgeous peonies at Hermannshof in Germany. Their vibrant color jumped right out of the shade and the white Allium’s added just the right amount of sparkle.

End of May show with moody, dark purple spires of Caradonna Saliva, quirky light pink mounds of Monarda bradburiana, fluffy blue spires of Walkers Low Catmint and lavender Allium umbels weaving through it all. The dark red Ruby Port Aquilegia is finishing up, so nice a few waited for the catmint to come into full flower.
