Due to popular demand, there will be another chance to see ANFORTAS later this year in Cairo. After the political events and night curfews that limited attendance during Medrar’s 5th Cairo Video Festival in the fall of 2013, the organizers are planning to remount the festival again later this year for those who missed it.

You can view the program’s catalogue, including a write up about ANFORTAS in the LOOP section (pg. 190-191).

A few days ago, filmmaker Georgia Gruzen interviewed me for Homemade News. We talked a little about the video projects I make with Carolyn Radlo, a little bit about the MIA program and a little bit more about the Codex Nuttall and what I was doing in Mexico last summer.

You can listen to the interview here: artist interview— Alanna Simone

Homemade News airs on KCHUNG radio every Sunday at noon on AM 1630 in Los Angeles.
