Sometimes I wonder why I make certain character dynamics.
I’ve been working on Puella Magia Kyuki Magica and getting the dynamic between Izanami and Kyuki just right.
Until I realized that since Izanami is in college, Kyuki must stick out like a sore thumb due to her childish looking body.
Imagine going to your class and seeing a dead eyed small child sitting next to the wheelchair bound beauty that constantly takes notes on everything the professor speaks.
Not only that, but the small child is answering all the questions correctly and giving slightly smug looks at the professor when doing so.
Obviously she would be scolded afterwards after making the professor feel like an idiot for getting his math equation wrong.
In Kyuki’s defense, her logic doesn’t follow Earth’s logic and she was getting bored.
Izanami: Kyuki, you can’t go around and correct every professor that gets the slightest mistake!
Kyuki: They knew what they were going into when they took the job. I’m surprised nobody taught him manners too.
A New Magical Girl Approaches!
I was sleeping last night when this idea hit me clear in the face.
Heck yeah, I love my time travel girls so much that I’m adding a sixth ranger type with a twist.
So, you recall that Tsuya was a concubine for the emperor and only made her wish when she saw how brutal the others were and no one would be her friend. However, what you don’t know is that the young emperor who she was promised to marry actually did fall in love with her.
He saw her kindness and selflessness and was drawn towards her. The way she would take care of the younger concubines and maids was akin to that of a proper empress. While his parents stressed the importance of marrying a princess, he wanted Tsuya’s love. That was ruined due to KyuKyu granting Tsuya’s wish, which the young emperor eavesdropped on, and whisked her away in the middle of the night. Sadden by the woman he loved leaving, he became cold and distant, refusing to marry anyone else, but made sure that her family was taken care of for the rest of their lives.
One night, he had caught one of those wish granting yokai and demanded that it would grant him a wish. The yokai told him that it couldn’t since he wasn’t one that they were looking for. Frustrated, he struck a deal with the devil that he would allow his entire concubine group to become magical girls to give them energy if it would grant him one wish. Intriguied, the yokai asked what the emperor would ask for.
“Let me return to my beloved wherever she may be. No matter where she is, I want to be there to protect her.”
With his wish granted, the emperor fell to the ground dead, causing the girls who became magical girls for his sake to be turned into witches out of despair. His kingdom would be destroyed due to this.
Many millenia later, a young man named Makoto Fushibana would be born and his face would resemble that of the late emperor. He indeed had his wish granted, but Tsuya was nowhere to be found. Eventually, Makoto would go into modeling, becoming a famous male model that made the ladies swoon.
Also, he would become a she when transformed into a magical girl, weilding Tanegashima, two Japanese firearms. Makoto, in female form, goes by Mako and becomes one of the many protectors of a sector of Kamihama.
In his male form, he would encounter Tsuya at a modeling gig and recognize her immediately. From then on, he would try everything to confess his love and win her heart in this new modern time. In female form, Mako would help Tsuya in long range attacks since she’s a close range fighter.
So, what do you think? Will Makoto win Tsuya over? Does she prefer Makoto or Mako? And how will Sharifa and the others react to this new threat in their lives?
I think the funniest thing about Tsuya is the fact that she’s been a magical girl longer than most, is older than most, and considers herself to be the mom friend for everyone. Yet, despite all that, she has her childish moments too.
I mean, she literally blew some of her money on Hilda when she asked for a surplus of Instant Ramen from the grocery store.
To quell the upcoming anger from Sharifa for poor spending, she bought groceries on top of the box.
Without Sharifa though, Tsuya would be broke and penniless.
I have awakened with the sudden urge to do something I haven’t done in a hot minute!
Make a Puella Oc!
Interestingly enough, I have a new wish for a girl in love with the fact that she may get a free wish from a strange creature.
“Kyubey, can you truly grant my wish? My heart’s desire?”
“Of course, name your wish and become a magical girl!”
Miruku gazed out at the beautiful scene in front of her. Flowers rained from the sky, causing the party in front of her to brightened. The sunlight streamed around them, the strange creature’s eyes widen as the young girl held out her hand. In her hand was a white lily.
“My sister has one and I wish to have one too. Kyubey, I wish for my happily ever after. I wish to be a beautiful bride.”
The magical bride, she who wishes for her happy ending.
Her name is Miruku Shirohana, the one who wields the four mystic bridal items.
Surprised nobody pointed out how terrifying and somewhat cute the implications of a girl asking Kyuebey for a sibling would be.
Like their wish is to not be an only child anymore and they want a little sister or brother.
Wonder how twisted the child will be? Would they be part witch? The weapon for the girl?
@dragonlapis you are such a genius! Thanks to that post you made the other day, I made a whole new team with household appliances for weapons.
