I can not put into words how much I love this fic! I was so engrossed the whole time and it just keeps on building until that explosive ending! I feel like I was there watching the race live (and believe me I am not even into F1 but I wanted to cheer and scream too). It’s exhilarating how the tension was built oh so right with Yoongi’s career/future on the line and this tension concerning the future of Yoongi and OC’s ‘relationship’ considering all other factors. I don’t think it’s easy to build tension like that while maintaining this realism too with all the technical stuff about racing.
I didn’t even know what to expect because I am not into formula one but sometimes you get a racing scenario and you get that shiny, polished appearance of racing. So reading all the details – like car regulations, contract renewals, pole (whatever that is ) and such - I actually enjoyed ALL OF IT because it made the characters’ jobs seemed real, dangerous, etc. I badly felt Yoongi’s pressure to do well and these parts when OC and Yoongi were fighting, I felt anxious too because Yoongi man? Please do well because we don’t want you jobless, okay?
I love that shout out to OC being in this career, which is a bit rare for women. But it also played a part in one of the conflicts of the story. I was ready to expect angst because the star-crossed lovers scenario felt like there weren’t any options left. But oh that resolution did not disappoint. I cheered and rooted for Yoongi so hard (like please, please let him win) but I rooted for YN (OC) and him so much more. I love this so much - everything from the details, the writing, the relationship between the two characters, the world of racing, and the conflicts (oh thank you for ending it beautifully). I don’t think I’d be so engrossed in a very detailed F1 racing fic but here I am with my heart still beating fast as if I just watched a competition.

I am not technically back to being active but this fic has been on my mind for days. I meant to do a reaction when this was posted (but then I realize it’s been almost 5 months ever since lol ). Why was I thinking of this scenario? I was just recalling fics with a tsundere!jungkook and lately I’ve been into bookshops aesthetics. Plus the slight enemies to lovers beginnings that led to some puzzling scenes between them? Then some Pride and Prejudice reference? Oh yes, sign me up. I am a sucker for these things (like you can not bring the words tsundere + e2l vibes + books and not sprinkle in some P&P!). So thank you for doing this oh so right!
I love how this story was just one big ball of curiosity for me. I was wondering all throughout what’s up with Jungkook even during those moments when everything was okay between them. He’s like hot and cold but when he’s warm enough, nothing seems to move forward? I also wondered why it was titled "kismet” when the whole circumstances between them weren’t really so fate-like-magical? I actually thought it was going to be just this slow burnish day in the life of a bookshop owner and his employee but my oh my, when that lil twist in the story came out - I think I squealed a bit? I just love it when a story surprises me or when it takes a different turn and gives so much more than what I expected. That was really good especially when things came to a head and Jungkook had no choice but to answer all my questions as listed above (lol). Wonderful beginning with a “reveal” that exceeded my expectations. Good job, dear author!

If Jeongguk wasn’t in desperate need of the bathroom he would have turned on his heels and fled right there and then. Instead, the door swings into the tiled wall with a thud that resounds in his chest and the two of you just stare at each other, suspended in time like stars fixed in the hold of the universe. His heart twists itself into a strange knot when you tilt your head, hands fumbling back onto the sink to steady yourself. You’re clearly as drunk as him—maybe even more—and Jeongguk can’t help the way he tips forward, a hand outstretched to help you up.
waah finally got the time to catch up and see what these two have been up to. OC remains an interesting and memorable character to me with (who can forget her jumping out of the window moment?). I love how the journey of OC’s sexual discovery coincides with Jungkook’s journey of emotional attachment too. The pining and confusion from Jungkook felt so real I almost feel bad for him. Not him listing of things he noticed about her, even her recent fascination with nail art lol. The chapter felt tense and exciting at the same time - just the right amount of slow burn that keeps me wanting and excited for more.
You immediately spring to your feet at the sound of your name and offer the secretary a short bow, “Yes, that’s me.”
In the waiting room, all the other girls giggle and exchange little snide whispers. Your face flushes from the way they eye you, eyebrows raised at your shabby appearance. The button-down you borrowed from your roommate clearly does not impress these modelesque girls in their skin-tight designer sheaths and sky-rocketing Jimmy Choos. You awkwardly squirm your toes in your worn down loafers, head ducked from embarrassment as you wish you’d thought to at least borrow a pair of heels as well. But now it’s too late.
The secretary barely manages to suppress a sneer as she eyes you up and down with condescension. But her professionalism barely manages to hold together as she clears her throat and forces a smile, “Mr. Kim’s office is down this way.”
Trepidation bubbles up your throat as you follow her down the elegant, modern hallway. Every click of the secretary’s stilettos on the gleaming marble seems to match a double beat of the rapid pounding of your beat. Why are you here? There’s no way the CEO will choose you. Every single one of the girls in the lobby could be a Victoria’s Secret model. What were you even thinking?!
Before you can turn to run for your life, the secretary stops you in front of door, “Mr. Kim, your next appointment is here to see you.”
It’s too late to run for your life now. You swallow the lump in your throat and anxiously wipe your palms on your pants.
“One minute,” you whisper after a quick glance at his watch, “Almost there, sir.”
“Fuck that,” he growls.
So reading this again made me notice there’s a bit on OC’s social conditions? I know it’s mostly PWP but there was a part I felt bad for OC and how she felt like she doesn’t belong in this world of Jimmy Choos and designer clothes clad women. Namjoon choosing her is definitely a win for our underdog. Hah! Take that snotty candidates. I really like these parts. But most of all, I love werewolf!namjoon! I love how this werewolf CEO!Namjoon scenario is such a sweet yet filthy surprise with sugar baby undertones. He’s so elegant yet so fierce, sleek yet so rough - really heat or no heat he’s just someone to thirst and drool for. There was one scene where OC thought that this right here is not a boy, but a man and the way Namjoon breathes this very description makes it so easy to imagine why one can’t say no to him. Craving for werewolf CEO Namjoon activated? Yes. Yes. Yes.
