Just my opinion, but

But I hate how people are getting mad that Wizards didn’t kill everyone. Is it not enough that they killed a longtime fan favorite (Gids), the likeable rogue type (Dack), and a relatively new if slightly misguided Walker (Domri)? Did you want us to have no named walkers left? Did you want us left with nothing but new characters that we have no attachment to?

Go back to Game of Thrones and leave my fandom alone.

wizards: ral is getting redemption in war of the spark

me: probably so you can kill him off huh

wizards: nope! He’s Just Gay

I’m legitimately happy Ral and Tomik got a good ending. ❤ Considering I thought Ral was an egotistical fool before the novel, that was an impressive redemption.

While I appreciate the attempt to have more and more ties between the Magic story and the actual cards, my discontent at inconsistencies between the two continues. While the War of the Spark novel has nothing so egregious as Rivals of Ixalan (which was an entirely different story in text than on the cards) there are still a handful of disparities.  I’ll put a keep reading line, but if you’ve seen the set there shouldn’t be anything here that’s really a spoiler.

Agree 100% with my gobbo overlord, and mostly on the part that the book is not any different that the weekly stories in terms of quality.

Also a very nice part after a team of planeswalkers deactivates the Planar Bridge on Amokhet is not included in the set, like Dack is not included in the set either.

If you want details on that or my speculations about the fate of Ravnica and the loose ends that might lead to future stories, let me know and I will try to make a spoiler filled post later.

Gosh I agree there were some big problems with the novel and I wish the cards didn’t depict a different story and there was just some messes going on with the narrative at time…

Also where was the part where Niv dies????? That’s a pretty big thing to not have a card OR a part in the novel for.
