I just found out (or possibly rediscovered) that Red reaching out for Kitty’s hand was NOT printed in the script! It’s such a little but tender moment. My heart is all warm and fuzzy thinking about how that action and the ones that follow were added in by Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp. If you look closely in that scene once Red has his hand over hers, Kitty starts stroking her thumb over his wedding band too, again it’s the little things that make my heart swoon.
I had Noticed this *years*ago even have a headcanon about how this isn’t the first time Kitty’s done this, and I figured it was something that Debra Jo Rupp did that wasn’t scripted but finding out that the hand holding, the whole thing that stats it too was unscripted just melts my heart.
Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith did an amazing job at making the last only Red and Kitty scene a sweet and memorable one.
I can not wait to see them together again in That ‘90s Show.

And in S3, Hopper and Joyce did spend the majority of the time acting like a long time married couple like Red and Kitty, who were looking out for a group a kids, some of which are not their biologically but in every other way…sound familiar?

Other than the obvious: the show centers around Eric and Donna’s teenage daughter Leia, who is spending the summer with her grandparents Red and Kitty. And the show’s tagline is:“Sex, drugs, and rock n’ roll never dies - it just changes clothes.”
1. Eric, Donna, Jackie, and Kelso will have recurring roles. It is unclear in what capacity, but safe to say they’ll be guest stars and not main cast.
2. Also, Fez is returning! Wilmer confirmed with a cheeky video of him trying on his old Fez wardrobe.
3. According to an (*unverified*) leaked source, the pilot takes place on the 4th of July. This does seem to track, given Kitty’s wardrobe in this “First Look” photo Netflix tweeted.

5. Here is a first glimpse of Eric and Donna’s daughter, Leia (played by Callie Haverda). Leia is “Smart like her mom, snarky like her dad. Leia is craving adventure, she’s just not sure where to start.”
6. Topher teased his return with this t-shirt. It could just be a Point Place tee, or it could be a clue. Maybe all of the characters are in town for their high school reunion?

9. There was a pretty long break in filming back in the spring. Tapings were planned - you could buy tickets to sit in the audience - and then they were canceled for several weeks. Unclear as to why. Casting changes? More of the OG cast came on board, so they did re-writes? They are back to filming though, and seem to be planning to film for the next several weeks straight. ~u n c l e a r ~
10. Kurtwood Smith said in an interview last week that they’ve finished two episodes in front of a live audience, and that the response has been terrific so he thinks people are going to be very happy with the show.
~ There are also several unverified rumors. I mentioned one of them earlier - that one of Leia’s new friends Jay is actually Kelso’s son. There are also unverified rumors that Jackie and Kelso are endgame - something about, they get married, divorced, then remarried. These have NOT been confirmed by the show or any of the actors yet, so they’re still unverified and could, theoretically, have changed. ~

Also not confirmed BUT my theory is shooting of episodes were cancelled due to the negotiations with getting the original characters (One specifically) taking a bit longer than expected.
