Haha I wanted to post these too, it was the day after Lola’s surgery and we had crawled to bed after a long day at work and post-surgery nursing care for Lola. My back was a wreck, it was pushing three weeks of migraine and I was just exhausted and a bit demoralized feeling. Then @amandasue_bjd messaged me that tracking showed my package had been delivered. I’d checked the mail box but not the front porch when I got home, so I raced down in my PJs to find the package tucked away in a dark corner of the porch. I opened the package back in bed and it just made me so very happy and uplifted. Thank goodness for dolls and wonderful dolly people, thank you! ☺️♥️

Last year I thought it was high time I re-made my Surgy stop motion puppet with the resin printing technology I now possess.
.
That project got delayed until about last month, when I started doing some 3D modeling for it. And just yesterday I decided to finish up that work I started. Here’s some behind the scenes the first test print.
.
More modeling/sizing/testing is needed, but it’s fun to prototype parts.
.
My ultimate plan was to create a YouTube series where Surgy shares tips and tutorials about various art projects, ranging from casting to painting to animation. It’s a possibility.

5th edition combat and 3rd degree burns, what a combination! I know from personal gaming experience how satisfying it is to unleash a dungeon trap on enemies. It is not especially humane, but it is especially cathartic to get to turn a trap around on the DM and the DM’s monsters. Good on Bells Hells, quite polite and decent of them to heal up the competition, very good sportpersonship being shown by this band of adventurers.

If ya can’t beat em, burn em, it’s time for Crit Role Miniature Rollout Campaign 2 Episode 21!

Favorite Mini of the Ep

Love me some Pathfinder goblins. So iconic. Gotta make this my pick for best mini of the ep, just look at that delightful pigskin football dome. In fact, this sculpt is so good, they used it twice. Both paint jobs are solid. But I think I prefer the bright red eyes of the original Rise of the Runelords iteration.

Least Favorite Mini of the Ep

Dragonborn Enemy Party Member Jungle of Despair #40 Serpentfolk Wizard

My least favorite model of the ep simply because it perplexed me last ep. I psyched myself out. I thoughtI recognized it last episode, I even looked at the minisgallery.com image. Alas, I wasn’t completely sure, and I ended up listing it as “unknown”. Shoulda trusted my mini gut.

Anyway, on it’s actual merits, I like this folksy serpentfolk. Wearin’ a rustic serpent fit, complete with snaky sandals. Actually those are just scale stripes, but they sorta look like sandals. Unique, kinetic pose. Bright, pleasing paint. Furthermore, this model makes for an excellent dragonborn stand-in. And even better, a gold dragon born, not at all common. None of that orange dragonborn silliness the actual D&D branded prepaints default to. Gold star for this Pathfinder dragonborn- errr uhmm, I mean serpentfolk.

We got a warlock mini down. Laudna, don’t die on us (again). Another mini breakage, ouch. This episode we have confirmation that the party miniatures are resin printed, which explains the resin fragility. Matt specifically stated that the PC figures are 3D printed. Wowie, what a time, we truly are living in the miniature future.

We got ourselves a no-mini episode. Which means it’s a perfect time to answer this overdue question submission:

image

Could I bother you to comment on the moorbounders minis by Velrock over at thingiverse? Maybe on the posing and composition since there’s no paint job. Apparently they sent it to Matt the week they let the moorbounders go, I would love to have seen it alongside the characters on a battle map

No bother at all! These are some delightful swamp panthers. This STL release includes files with and without saddles depending on whether your party is fighting or riding moorbounders. I appreciate the subtle pose variations. The overall construction of the creatures is extremely believable. They look like legitimately powerful and agile beings that could feasibly exist in a fantasy or even non-fantasy world. Bravo Velrock!

If you needed a reason to own a resin printer, here are three reasons. Each of the moorbounders have their own distinct look while still looking like a cohesive pack. What a shame they never appeared on the actual show, particularly since  so much care and craftspersonship was clearly put into the 3D sculpting. I love the varied assortment of saddle and aesthetic details, such as the bow on Yarnball’s head.
