Fred question heheheh. So as a kid my nickname was boo. I saw a clip of Drop Dead Fred on Tiktok and that started an obsession with Rik. So then I watched the young ones and also fell in love with Ade.

Looking back at it I haven’t been a fan of Rik for very long as my obsession with him began April 24th. Although it hasn’t even been two months I’ve formed an aching emotional attachment to him already. I’m on the autism spectrum and with autism comes special interests/hyper-fixations. This means that my brain is completely consumed by one thing all the time, a lot of the time to an extent where I’m uncomfortable not constantly interacting with said thing. With that being said, Rik has been my most recent hyper-fixation. I saw one clip of drop dead Fred on Tiktok one day and I had an overwhelming feeling of joy and comfort after seeing it. With that I delved into the fandom of Rik and found so many nice people. Although Rik has stated that he “loves to play bastards”, I find a comfort in all of them and feel as if I’ve learned from all of them. This fandom has let me express my over-attachment and love for him and his characters without making me feel dumb for doing so. None of my friends outside of the fandom will let me really talk about Rik as they just don’t find him funny. At this point I’m just rambling but hopefully you guys kind of got the point. Behind the scenes look at the making of Drop Dead Fred (1991) with Rik Mayall. One of my favorite childhood films, and I loved seeing it later because of the whole deeper meanings and anxieties and unhappiness that the adult characters (namely Elizabeth) need to overcome.
Rik talks about that in the interview, his own hangups with acting straight (he sounds so insecure at the end of the first comment it almost broke my heart), and reminds me of everything I love about the film. Also, his hair is glorious.

I started this account but Lydia has been the only one posting on it for a while.
