“flamepaw has the burden of carrying firestar’s name when others in firestar’s lineage don’t” sparkpelt was also named after firestar. the spark- prefix is very clearly meant to evoke firestar. to the point where graystripe wondered why she wasn’t named “sparkfire.” also love how that article is tries to posit having flame- in his name despite being a black cat is ~a burden that no one else has had put upon them~ but never give a reason as to why they made a female character who is described as looking exactly like firestar and is constantly compared to him in physical appearance but never explore how this comparison makes feel or affected her and just shrugged it off with “she feels comfortable in her own skin :) everyone telling her she looks like the literal most important historical figure in the world and being constantly compared to him as his descendent doesn’t affect her perception of herself in the slightest :) bramblestar’s entire character arc circulates around how he feels he was being judged for looking like his father but sparkpelt never experienced anything of the sort :) nightheart being named after firestar makes the burden of legacy inescapable for him but sparkpelt being named after him in a less of obvious way and also looking exactly fucking like him didn’t affect her or make her feel like she had a standard to live up to at all :)” sorry but you will never be able to convince me that flamepaw’s situation is in any way unique or worse than sparkpelt’s the writing team quite simply just doesn’t give a shit about giving their female character’s depth beyond shit related to motherhood and being in a relationship with a man
