15 Questions with Candis Cayne: Jamie Clayton

1. We want to know about what you’re working on now and how Covid-19 is affecting it.

As of now, schedule permitting, I will be returning to The L Word: Generation Q and Roswell, New Mexico. Covid-19 has shut down productions and all filming dates are being pushed. That means when production is allowed to start again, it will all happen simultaneously which might be tricky. Fingers crossed I am able to do it all!

i have a feeling that drunk sherlock deducing things is like how most of us would have done it if we gave it a proper shot

i never in a million years thought that i would ever get to see sherlock drunk out of his mind BUT NOW THAT I HAVE I NEVER WANT IT TO STOP

I watched the MTV clip and even though this is exactly what I expected, I’m also devastated. I’ll try to collect my thoughts tomorrow. Right now I’m in actual tears. Like I know it’s funny, I know it’s such a good juicy clip, but maybe I can relate a little bit too much to the character who’s always first to rush forward in affection and friendship and gets socked in the face and tossed across the room for it.

“Benerino.”  “Mr. Grumpy Pants.” Jesus Christ he was euphoric to see him alive, so excited for a hug.  And Ben has no idea who he is.

Klaus is a disaster, I know, but his big-heartedness is not a mistake, it’s a rare asset and blessing, but he is always, ALWAYS punished for having it.

((also painful when you think of how this is part an interaction between toxic masculinity and how it affects softer queer men like klaus. not saying that Sparrow!Ben is that way,  but to me thats a way you can read it. i dunno, im rambling))

Dude no I TOTALLYgot that from it, too.  Umbrella Ben was not toxically masculine, but Sparrow Ben has absorbed some pretty awful models of “success” and “power” and “importance” from Reginald and God knows what/who else that we have yet to discover in this season.  And Klaus is pointedly a victim of this mentality over and over and over again because he’s the most out queer sibling. This was definitely a parallel with young closeted Dave in the 1960s being told by his uncle to “punch the queer.”
