Free classes and free Ebook available here!

A fantastic, concise book for those wanting to take their religion more seriously but are still not firm in understanding the basics.

It covers many essential topics within 372 pages. I have attached pictures of the contents pages and here is a short summary:

  • Learning Surah al-Fatihah and other short suwar.
  • The Pillars of Islaam and emaan.
  • Categories of Tawheed.
  • Conditions, pillars and obligations of prayer.
  • Conditions, obligations and nullifiers of wudhu.
  • Character and Islaamic etiquette. (my favourite)
  • Warning from shirk and other sins.
  • Preparing and burying the deceased. (my other favourite)

There is a similar version of the book available here, at a cheaper price.

This book was gifted to me when I first started to attend duroos (around 2 years ago, and I still return to it often). The sister who gifted it to me gave a great explanation as to why she chose this book (by no means verbatim) “it’s good that you attend classes, but make sure you are firm and grounded in the basics and your obligations. Think about building a house, it needs firm foundations before you can start adding the fancy extras”. May Allaah grant her much goodness and ease in this life and the next. Aameen.

Building up knowledge takes time, it is a journey and you will never reach the goal of being “knowledgeable”; death will intercede. Doesn’t matter what field you’re in, you won’t ever truly be able to say “yes, I understand this 100%”. This is all a journey, take your time and enjoy the learning process.

Worrying about Future Provision and Means of Living – Shaykh Ṣāliḥ b. Fawzān Al-Fawzān حفظه الله

Translator: Owais al-Hashimi  حفظه الله

Question:

Noble Shaykh, may Allāh give you success, the questioner says: I take care of my five daily prayers, doing them on time, and I regularly recite the Qurān and fast the supererogatory fasts, and all praise is for Allāh. But sometimes I am afflicted with fear about the future as it pertains to provision and means of living, for me and for my children, especially in recent times. This has caused me worry, sadness and confusion. What is your guidance for me regarding these things?

The Shaykh responded:

This is from Shayṭān, you must seek refuge with Allāh from this, if you feel this, you seek refuge with Allāh from this, and have a good opinion of Allāh, and rely on Him (by entrusting your affairs to Him). Allāh will make things easy as He wills.

‏اذا سألوك يوماً :

لماذا انت حزين ؟

جـاوب بصدق و قل لهم :

أنى قليل الاستغفار

و هاجر للقرآن

If they ask you: Why are you sad?

Tell them truthfully and say to them:

I rarely make istighfar and I left reading Quran
