After returning from the war in 1945, he began his career as a professional cartoonist with a weekly comic strip, Li’l Folks, in the St. Paul Pioneer Press. His first Peanutsstrip appeared in newspapers nationwide on October 2, 1950.

Been reading a lot of Peanuts comics, and watching a lot of the specials to help get me through self quarantine. These kids were my heroes during my childhood, and they’re still there for me in my adult years.
