Secret of Mana! I loved growing up with this game. The characters, the world, the story all left a big impact on me. I always imagined the characters older than they were so I wanted to do some fanart! This is just part of a much larger piece so stay tuned ;)
I still love this sketch I made of adult Randi from Secret of Mana! I’ve always wanted to do an illustration of the whole gang. We’ll see where this leads ;)
At one point I wanted to do my own variant of art work for Secret of Mana. This game was a favorite of mine as a child and its a very nostalgic game to me. Here are some rough sketches of Randy finding the rusty Mana sword at the bottom of the waterfall in the beginning of the game. I should do more fan art for the games I like.
Hirō Isono was a Japanese artist born in 1945, and passed away on May 2013. Shown in the majority of his work, you will notice that he had an affinity for trees, forests, and nature.
He gained more recognition from his artwork contributions to the 1990’s RPG series “Secret of Mana”or “Seiken Densetsu”, for the SNES. His visions and techniques always invoked reality with just a little hint of mystery. Not quite surreal, but just enough to make you think about what you’re looking at.

Hello everyone! Sorry for the delay. We had a much bigger event than we were expecting, so it’s been quite a task getting everything together!
We had an incredible turnout this year, with 23 ghosts submittedby32 participants, several of whom joined the server specifically for the event! This is a huge growth from last year; nearly double the amount of ghosts, 13 more participants, and19 of our participants releasing a ghost for the first time as a part of this event!
Additionally, several people took on the optional challenges we offered this year. The challenges were as follows:
72 Hour challenge: create the ghost within the first 72 hours of jam.
New Assets Only challenge: create the ghost using no premade assets at all, aside from a template.
3 ghosts qualified for the 72 Hour challenge, and 14 qualified for the New Assets Only challenge! We also saw several different interpretations of our optional Disaster theme!
With so many ghosts, I’ll admit, writing up that many blurbs about them sounds intimidating both to write and to read. So instead, this year we’re going to list some bullet points for each ghost, and encourage you to download each one to try them out for yourself! There were so many interesting concepts explored this year, you’ve really just got to try them to see!
