hellish-cruelty:

Women on the run.

Films in Frame - Persona, Potrait of the Lady on Fire, Licorice Pizza, The Worst Person in the World, Spencer, The Double Life of Veronique, Little Women, Frances Ha, Fleabag, Run Lola Run

And how could I have possibly forgotten the great Anne Hathaway moment.

The Devil wears Prada

Chungking express

get-whumped:

ngl the nostalgia of watching this show is making me a little spicy so enjoy this comprehensive and not completely straight-forward whumplist for The Mentalist*.

Season 1:

1x01 Chased with a gun^

1x03 Punched in the face

1x08 Punched in the face

1x09 Rigsby: burned, bandages changed by Van Pelt because ~burgeoning romance~ Jane: Trapped in burning building^

1x16 Sent threatening text, caught in explosion, temporarily blinded, collapses, blind for whole episode, attacked and shot at (~revengey~)

1x21 Risgby: has the flu

1x23 Upset, almost taken prisoner by/for Red John, upset

Punch count: Season: 2 - Running Total: 2

*Unless otherwise specified I am referring to Jane

^ = minor peril (basically just any time things aren’t going according to plan and Jane realizes for a moment that “oh shit I might actually be in danger right now”)

Season 2:

2x02 Held at knife point^

2x03 Lisbon: framed for murder, (unknowingly) repeatedly drugged and manipulated, suspended, upset

2x06 Arrested, goes to jail, nothing ouchy happens obviously because ~Jane~, escapes, gets arrested again, released (eye roll)

2x07 Van Pelt: shot three times in the vest, broken ribs, hospital

2x08 Upset, maybe a little in shock

2x10 Hit in the head with a baseball, knocked out, flashbacks, concussion, acting off, dizzy - passes out, flashbacks, dizzy again - has to sit

2x12 Cho and Rigsby: trapped in building on fire, Jane: kidnapped, handcuffed to chair, held at gunpoint

2x14 Cho (+girlfriend) attacked in his home

2x16 Punched in the face BY LISBON (so deserved) *chef’s kiss*

2x19 Jane and Lisbon: Locked in shipping container and abandoned in the desert^

2x20 Slapped in the face*

2x23 Upset, knocked out, tied to a chair, panicked and terrified when Red John shows and kills people in front of him (absolutely no after care, just a time jump to him totally fine sitting in the office. I felt so utterly robbed by this that I feel compelled to link this amazing tag fic by the wonderful @altschmerzesSailors Take Warning)

Punch Count: Season: 1.5* - Running Total: 3.5

*slap = .5 (not quite a punch)

I’ve been a huge fan of The Mentalist since probably about 2010 but it used to be really hard to watch because CBS didn’t make the episodes available online after they aired and they didn’t go on demand (+ my family didn’t have dvr). Because of this episodes kind of just disappeared after they aired (like the old days aka my entire childhood) so when I saw prime had the whole series I jumped! I started making a whump list (because if I’m binging the whole show I might as well) but I forgot how little Jane whump there is . They tease some every so often with one of Jane’s schemes but other than the occasional (usually well deserved and provoked) punch in the face there’s maybe one episode per season if we’re lucky. And Jane. Whumps. So. Well. He’s so soft, he’s my sassy, grumpy man baby, driven by trauma, loss, revenge, spite, and (one can only assume) tea. Should I make a comprehensive (and I mean COMPREHENSIVE it will include all punches to the face deserved or otherwise) list at the end? Or update after each season? Sound off in the replies!
