Not Just A Souvenir! Another Way To Enjoy Postcards From Your Travels
Postcards can be obtained all over Japan. They’re great as souvenirs, but there’s also other ways to use them. We’ll introduce fun ways to use postcards at the end of your travels with those sold at the post office.

I did some previous blabla about the mingling of modernity and tradition in Japan, so here you go: Tokyo Skytree 東京スカイツリーand Sensoji 浅草寺 in Tokyo’s Asakusa 浅草area, Taito ward 台東区. The whole area maintains a nice atmosphere of old edo Japan with it’s temple, pagoda and shopping streets. However, as almost every building in Tokyo. the main hall 本堂 is a postwar structure dating back to 1956, the pagoda 五重塔 was finished not before 1973. Anyway, it’s a pleasent area that recently got more attention because of the opening of the nearby Skytree with it’s shopping center. You can combine some tradition and ultra-modernity in one trip, if you want to do so.

Der Tôkyô Skytree. Übrigens ist er im Gesamten 634m hoch und die oberste Plattform ist auf 451m Höhe. In unseren Reisen mit Stopp in Tôkyô oder nur Tôkyô ist er immer Bestandteil des Programms.

Unsere Tour “Kiku Premium” ist grade in Japan und wir werden ein bisschen was berichten. Bei unserer Ankunft war es etwas trübe aber dennoch ist die Aussicht aus dem Hotel einmalig.

A few pics from Tokyo Skytree! The third one even shows the beautiful crescent moon we had today. Sadly it was very crowded (even though we went there shortly before closing time) and also not quite as high up as the Sky100 in Hong Kong.
Still, the nightly view of Tokyo was beautiful, it’s really such a huge city.

Sensoji, Skytree, sakura.
Tokyo Skytree marked 10 years since its opening to the public on Sunday. It was a gorgeous day for the celebrations and for a stroll around the shitamachi streets nearby.
Wish on floating lanterns
Toro Nagashi(lantern festival) is a summer tradition in Japan
They make wishes and float paper lanterns down the river in order to pray for their ancestors’ happiness
