Some lil headcanon doodles on what I think happened after the end of sonic 2 (not really spoilers but im still tagging them just in case)
Also some mini after movie headcanons:
I think Knuckles overtime will be more open and relaxed. Loves to play games with his new little bros and explore greenhill. Though he’s still naive about being social and life on Earth he certainly not dumb. Also he loves sweets and desserts now, particularly with fruit.
Tails becomes a lot more confident and may or may not have “upgraded” the house. Loves to watch sci-fi movies on movie night and making new little gadgets. Even if the technology on Earth isn’t as good as tech back home.
Sonic is still sonic but is so happy he isn’t alone anymore. Yeah he has Maddy, Tom, and Ozzie but it’s nice to have, ya know more talking over powered animals like you. He likes to come up with little games and stories with Knuckles and Tails.
I audibly screamed in the theatre (everyone was hype dw I’m not evil) when that ‘06 reference came up. The whole move made this fact very clear to me, but this is the strongest evidence that the people behind this movie actually give two shits about Sonic the fucking Hedgehog
Tom, walking into his garage: Alright Tails, Rise and shine. I know you said you wanted to sleep in the garage last night but how did you sl- HOLY MOLY!
Tails, standing in a laboratory that was previously a garage the night before: Huh? Oh, hi Mr. Wachowski!
Tom: Tails, you can call me Tom. Anyways… How did you do this?
Tails: Oh no! Did I do something bad?
Tom: No no no no, I’m just impressed. And confused. Mostly confused.
Tails: Well, I took some old scrap metal and threw this together! It’s not that good right now though, but I can work on it.
Tom: okay, well it’s breakfast time so come on in.
Okay okay okay, say what you want about the wedding subplot. Perhaps it is a little long. But the whole thing being a needlessly elaborate G.U.N. setup is absolutely fucking hilarious.
The mental image of this secretive government organization being pretty sure that Sonic is living with Tom and Maddie, but they can’t just break into their house and arrest him because, well. That’s illegal. So this entire organization committed to marrying an agent into their extended family so they could more easily supervise them and eventually find Sonic. But then he just comes crashing right into the wedding and they just go “oh okay I guess the gig is up then. arrest the child”
I’m still over here losing my shit at the G.U.N. priest
The biggest mistake plot twist is that David Morgan is a federal agent.
If the next movie plans to tackle SA2′s story, I want it to answer one of the game’s biggest questions, why does Shadow look so much like Sonic, despite having been created first?
Given how in the movies, multiple Owl Tribe temples exist on Earth, and we still don’t know exactly what Sonic is and where his powers came from…it’s entirely possible that Sonic’s existence was foretold by the tribe, and records of this prophecy were found by humans and used as a blueprint to create the ultimate lifeform, ProjectShadow.
Doing this would not only fix a major issue of the source material, but it would also allow us to explore Movie!Sonic’s origins, an aspect that, two movies in, still remains shrouded in mystery.

All I want to see in the next movie is that they explore Sonic’s powers, his origins! Who knows? Maybe he is linked to Shadow because they share the same power core or something like that, and since the movie creates it’s own rules for its universe, the posibilities are endless!

I really love this one because Sonic’s breathing is very clear here. You can even make out where his ribcage is! Also bonus appreciation for the fact they made debris stick to his fur
Poor baby His chest fluttering so weakly because he just got beaten to an inch of life.
Tails
Tails is a little harder to spot sometimes as the camera doesn’t always have his whole body in the shot. He is little, so there is a smaller chest space.
You can see his chest deflate as he lets out a gasp of joy
Little chest deflates. Chest fur ruffles.
Knuckles
Knuckles is, weirdly enough, trickier to spot, despite being the biggest. Because he is more solid and heavy built, this means that his breathing isn’t just animated by his chest, but also by the rest of his body.
Big balloon chest puffed with pride deflates once he relaxes.
Again, tricky to spot, but watching Knuckles here, you can just make out his whole body quivering with breaths.
Ok, so this is jumping the G.U.N since the movie isn’t even out yet but….
A spin off movie about Shadow and his life before the events of SA2 would perfect, right? Think about it. Out of all the StH characters, he’s got the most flesh out backstory and SA2 arguably has the most “actually a story” plot of the games. Gerald and Maria Robotnik and their experiments on the Space Colony ARK would be a good way to bridge and explain the whole two worlds thing. It would be a good basis for world building. More character insight for Shadow, a character who’s popular with both fans and the general public. Baby Shadow!!! What’s not to like!
