An extensive look at the gameplay of Sonic Frontiers has been revealed in an event named “IGN First”, details, interviews and previews related to Sonic Frontiers will be revealed all month long, with the first video released today dedicated to show Sonic running around the brand new world, with some elements from previous games returning, and also some new ones.
The original design for Sonic the Heddgehog for the 2020 Sonic the Hedgehog movie returned in the Disney+ movie “Chip and Dale: The Rescue Rangers”, sporting a beer belly, red eyes and an even more pronounced snot, the character is named “Ugly Sonic”, with the lore being that Hollywood abandoned him after they hired another better looking actor to replace him.
After months of silence, a first look at the upcoming Sonic Prime cartoon was revealed by Netflix, showcasing some of the animation, and a new voice for Sonic the Hedgehog.
Revealed by Netflix on their website and also a preview on the Netflix After School Channel, the first look for Sonic Prime showcases Sonic, sporting his Modern design, on Green Hill, playing around with a ring.
Due to Canadian laws that require that local productions must use a mostly Canadian voice over cast, Sonic is being voiced by a new voice actor, Deven Christian Mack. The voice cast for the series was confirmed by Netflix, with who is playing each role mostly unclear.

Sonic Prime is an upcoming animated Sonic the Hedgehog series for Netflix about Sonic discovering a brand new Multiverse, and learning what it takes to be a hero, while the Hedgehog goes on a journey of “redemption”.
Also, it’s now confirmed! Origins will have a story mode in which the player will be able to marathon all games in one sitting. There’ll be some animated cutscenes as conective tissues between each game.
It also officially confirms that Sonic CD is set between Sonic 1 and Sonic 2.
After months of silence, the wait is over: SEGA has officially announced details regarding the Sonic Origins collection, with a new trailer and a website.
The official trailer showcases what players can expect from this new version of the original classics, alongisde a sneak peek of the brand new animations that have been done for the new title.

What’s New
Sonic Origins brings to the table some new content to the titles that made the Sonic series a household name, with some being brought over from the Taxman ports of Sonic 1 and 2 for Mobile devices.

Anniversary and Classic Mode
The games will feature two gameplay modes for players, them being the Classic Mode and Anniversary Mode.
Anniversary Mode provides a full screen display and also brings to players an infinite number of lives to keep the fun going without having to worry about game overs.
Players will be able to have the game on their original presentation of 4:3, and will play in the classic finite live and game over style.
Missions, Medallions and Museum
A new feature in which players can put their skills to test and earn medallions by completing various missions throughout the games. Those medallions/coins can be spent to unlock new content from the vault, players will also be able to try the Special Stage and more.
The missions will also feature a ranking system, like previous 3D modern Sonic games.
Deluxe and Standard versions
Like the release of Sonic Colors Ultimate, the highly anticipated Sonic Origins will come with a deluxe version and a standard version for fans to choose. Not only that, but fans that pre-order the title (either the deluxe or standard version) will get the Start Dash Pack.
The standard version of the title will be going for $39.99 USD, while the deluxe will be going for $44.99 USD.

Sonic Origins will be released during Sonic’s birthday, June 23rd. Will be a digital only release for Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series S|X, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox ONE, Steam and the Epic Games store.
In a leak done by PlayStation Network Australia, details regarding Sonic Origins have been revealed, confirming the game features a “Classic Mode” and “Anniversary Mode”, where the anniversary mode boasts new alterations to the classic games, including new animations for opening and closing for each game, and new areas for the players to explore.

The Sonic movie sequel is out, and with it, a strong box office perfomance. Box office numbers for the previews of the movie (wednesday and thursday showings) are out, and Sonic is once more at the top.
With the movie’s strong momentum overseas, the sequel debuted to strong numbers in previews in its domestic territory. The numbers are nearly doubled compared to the previous screenings of the first film.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 debuted to $6.5 million on the box office during its’ preview showings. Sonic the Hedgehog debuted to $3 million in its’ previews.
Box office analysts have also commented on the movie’s friday perfomance, with the sequel most likely getting $23 million to $26 million during its’ opening day. With these numbers, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is on track to have a higher perfomance than its’ predecessor, likely surpassing the $58 million during the 3-day period.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is now out on North American movie theaters.
