Anyone who knows me well, will know that Sonic was my FIRST hyperfixation. I started off watching sonic-x when I was three, and my dad bought me Sonic Heros for the game cube, the first videogame I ever owned, and my fav game at the time.
I lost the cd when I first moved to Korea, and forgot mostly about Sonic, except for the Sonic Heros sleeve I kept (also lost that at some point lol), untilllllll one day at an afterschool class one of my friends showed me a magazine, which had a full page print for Sonic Unleashed for the Wii.
I, was HOOKED. right back into loving and enjoying all Sonic the hedgehog content I could get my hands on. Thank you Sonic Unleashed <3
Anywho, for the Bingo, the points I wanna explain.
Werehog Sonic is absolutely cool, incredible design, love the concept, the feel of running around as him in sonic unleashed, and just. Its a werewolf hedgehog!! Whats not to love!! My first blorbo <3
It’s hard to say weather they are deeper or not as deep than they seem, which is why I say both. In game, and in the archie comics he goes through an event which causes him to turn into the werehog, and hes embarrassed and sad to show this to his friends, for a pretty short amount of time in both, and then boom, hes okay and saving the world and everyone’s happy about it. Not that deep one could argue. But the fan content? the fan stories and fan comics?? THATS DEEP!! <3!
He absolutely didn’t get enough screen time, and I say this despite him having a full game to himself, and bits in a comic issue cause.. There was just so so much wasted potential, hes a really cool character, really cool concept and story plot, reaaaaaly cool story line with Chip. and I loved every moment of content we got of him. But I always wished there was just… more. The game wasn’t perfect, or even close, lots of folks saying it was pretty clunky and rushed, and the comics made me so sad the small amount of Werehog content they gave. Again I loved every bit of it myself, but it was never to the point I hoped or expected to see. ah well.
They definitely work better in a dynamic. Of course you cant have werehog sonic without Chip. But Sonic, in any form, needs his little brother tails with him too. Sonic in general, to me, though he is proud and snarky and seems very fine on his own, he always works better with someone at his side, and I love that about his character.
Anyways, thanks for reading my ramblings, werehog sonic will always have a special place in my heart <3
