So many collections for Spring 2020 have included modern takes on the 18th century silhouette that is achieved with panniers. The hooped skirt is named for the baskets that are used for storage on the sides of pack animals. This beautifully conserved pannier is made from linen and cane. The annual Eta Aquarid’s Meteor Shower could be seen last night and early this morning! This shower is caused by debris from Halley’s comet which will next be visible from Earth in 2061!
