anyway yeeee if anyone’s attending lightbox expo 2021 I’ll have a smol booth there! basically I wasn’t expecting to get past the selection process with the amount of industry talent that usually applies to that con so .. yeah totally unprepared lol ><

day and night versions of a fantasy Shanghai teahouse! I did these as part of my assignments for an environment sketching class at CDA.
I nearly died doing that class, but it was very good practice, and the instructors and classmates are very supportive. Highly recommended if you have the time, funds and energy!!
The ref I used for the teahouse is Shuyinlou, a semi-derelict private Ming-era residence in the heart of old Shanghai, that’s probably going under the wrecking ball or altered beyond recognition soon. I’m glad I got to see the really old, dusty and dirty bits of Shanghai before they all become clean, glitzy and part of the Chinese Dream…

I blew through Malaysia & Indonesia because it’s traditional imagery that I’ve drawn before and had the most trouble with Singapore lol but now it’s done and I want an ice cream wafer sandwich.

I’m having an art raffle over on Twitter if anyone’s into that kind of thing!
A little doodle from when I first got my Sailor fountain pen. (I’m still keeping a little bit of savings for if/whenever lockdown lifts, vaccines are administered, travel restarts, and I can zoom to Japan and buy me some limited editions)
The bonsai is based off a jeweled tree in the Shanghai Arts and Crafts museum. It’s one of my favourite Shanghai museums because it was relatively ungentrified, completely unglitzy, and you could poke about watching the (sometimes grumpy) uncles and aunties do their crafting in the rooms of an old French mansion.

I painted my partner’s Warrior Gardener of Light as a commission sample XD I used to love using colour pencils for outlines when I was in middle school but transitioned to ink and watercolour in high school. 20 years later I’m rediscovering them :)

I wanted to join milvilla’s DTIYS back in April but went past the deadline so I decided to complete the image as a little fanart of her OC Lilla! it was fun to draw and experiment with the colours on this :D

after more than a year I’m finally done with Corsola 2019 XD reposting Corsola 1999 along with it so that I can compare the differences…
I originally intended to release them as companion paintings, but life happened. Seems like I went a bit too heavy on the outlines for Galar Corsola!

previews of the art I did for the Great Turnabout DGS charity zine!! (I also did a doodle ;) but I’ll leave that for after the zine has been shipped/people who are getting the zine to discover!)
I personally had a hard time deciding between using Susato’s face or Barok’s mug as the preview, but with Susato I got 3 characters in 1 preview so there she is. (It’s definitely not the first cup of wine she’s had.)

ok I say this about almost every commission but … I liked doing this one a lot!! the subject requested, the WoL design, and the starbird were all things that made me enthusiastic about it (but at the same time I took longer because I ended up rendering more detail than I should have!!)

I have finished Endwalker, I am now 50% less of a degenerate >_< (looks at all the WIPs/half drawn eorzea diaries on desk and shudders)
A raid comm I finished a while back from a very considerate client!! I keep saying I will reopen comms “soon” but it looks like it will be New Years’ before I do..

wanted to complete an illust before Endwalker release but I didn’t have time :c (it’ll still get done and posted though) pls have some carbys ready for adoption… they are the goodest boys and have saved lives…
I have some shameless eorzea diaries about minions and black mage shenanigans to post as well at some point. After Endwalker I imagine the volume of doodles will double OTL

I’m going through Great Ace Attorney right now, and while I was ambivalent about the first game (apart from the amazing art), I’m midway through the second game and this is a BOMB. jfc it’s hard to tear myself away from the waxworks case. If you guys played the first trilogy and liked those this is THE successor to these games (predecessor?), more so than AA5 and 6.

Happy Mid-Autumn festival!! anyone have these bunny lanterns as a kid? I just recently found out the glass paper ones are pretty much only common to Southeast Asia (maybe just Malaysia and Singapore?), the ones I saw in Shanghai are.. well.. white and on wheelslol
