your new Secretary, er,  Administrative  assistant, seems to be taking some liberties with the office dress code…  But that’s okay, isn’t it?  

At the Stepford Ballet Academy, just like everywhere else in Stepford, being happy and fitting in is very important.  Despite the hard work and discipline, or perhaps because of it, you never see a sad face or unhappy expression.  No, everyone is happy, and works hard for the benefit of the community. Everyone is pretty, poised and perfect.

And that is how it will always be.

No, better than that, it’s like living in her favorite dream, a dream of pink frills, lace, pretty clothes, stockings, elegance, Art, proper manners, and all the Feminine things she loves and never having to wake up…

And why would she want to?  When everything and everyone is Perfect.

And it always will be…

What was she thinking?  It seems like it was a dream. Or perhaps a nightmare. Did she really used to dress like that?  Ripped jeans. T-shirts. Hoodies. Flip-flops.  That is NOT the way a Proper Lady dresses. Not at all.

Now she always starts her day the way a Proper Lady; a Proper and happy member of Society should. Everything matches, everything is classy, elegant and Feminine. The way it should be. The way it will be.

She is so happy now that she is living in Stepford. Where everyone is pleasant and helpful. Where she can learn what is proper. How to behave and fit in. Where she can visit the Salon and have her Bun put Up. And her Mind can be Out where it needs to be.

…And as we can see from this photograph from the Stepford Historical Archive, Proper Ladies always dress appropriately, no matter what activity they are engaging in…!

In Stepford, Ladies are expected to participate in Civic activities; such as joining clubs. A book club, for example. Or a gardening club. Or, perhaps a knitting circle. There are so many clubs and organizations to join, one for every interest you may have.  And all designed to promote Community.  Togetherness, a sense of common purpose is very important to all the Citizens of Stepford. After all, being part of the Community, belonging, and devoting yourself to bettering your Community is what we all strive for.  Wouldn’t you agree?  Yes, serving your Community and knowing your Community holds you tightly in strong bonds of commitment and duty give a sense of pride to all who dwell in Stepford…
