In the Ashtanga Yoga method every posture has a specific number of vinyasas which is a breath-aligned movements that bring us from Samasthiti to a particular posture or asana and back to standing. We hear the count or the Vinyasa count in an Ashtanga Led Class, where the count is used to lead the practitioners through the movements without any extra explanation needed. Once a week usually Saturdays, people who practice Ashtanga Yoga regularly in a Mysore class setting will find it beneficial and fun to flow with the group just counting the vinyasas.
