[NYX]It’s simple. I just need you three to do rounds regularly. Keep an eye on what’s happening, make note of when a passenger’s not where they are supposed to be, and intervene when they’re acting out of control.

[NYX]Do not shoot just because someone twitches wrong. In fact, unless your life of someone else’s is in danger, do not shoot any gun. Get the situation under control and go get me. Do we understand each other?

[SIMONE]But what if they’re being real annoying?

[NYX]If you really can’t stand it, there’s always the option of shooting yourself.

[SYLVESTER] No worries, Nyx. We got this. Maybe.

Just learned about a new book about Sylvester, published at the end of last year, written by British Blues & Soul writer Sharon Davis.. 

For the first time Sharon Davis has written about the time spent with disco icon Sylvester during and after the build up to his biggest global hit “You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)”. Record company reports and schedules accompanied by exclusive and personal visuals bring alive the time they shared in 1978, making this book a valuable insight into a hit in the making.  As his publicist she worked constantly with the singer who would be a star, sharing the moment and living the dream. Sharon writes frankly about Sylvester’s unpredictability and stubbornness, his love to shock, but most of all, she writes with love about the friendship they developed.

Sylvester was an American singer-songwriter, known for his falsetto singing voice, and hit disco singles in the 70s and 80s. Sylvester developed a love of singing through the gospel choir of his Pentecostal church. 

Leaving the church after the congregation expressed disapproval of his homosexuality, he found friendship among a group of black cross-dressers and transgender women who called themselves the Disquotays. Sylvester was an activist who campaigned against the spread of HIV/AIDS. Upon his death, he left future royalties from his work to San Francisco-based HIV/AIDS charities.
