Hi guys I’m back from the dead–medical/graduate school is much. I’m debating whether or not to migrate to Instagram but we’ll see.

A deceptively simple pattern. First post in three months because I have to be a functioning adult now (I just graduated college!).

It’s been a while, and I’ve been very busy getting ready to graduate this spring (hard to believe considering I started this blog during high school). This was my winter break project, and is a design I’ve wanted to do for a while.

I liked this design so much that I folded it on a massive sheet of glassine. It’s nowhere near as neat as Alessandro Beber’s version, but I tried my best.

Wow a double a post–this design is from the same booklet I ordered a long time ago, would recommend.

I’ve returned from the dead yet again with another tessellation, this one of my own design. I’ve been under a lot of stress recently because of graduate school applications but I’m also in the middle of IOIO 2018 so look out for more posts!

I actually bought the booklet a couple of years back and never folded anything because I didn’t think I could figure out the crease pattern, and look at me now.

Dodecagonal Patterns designed by Alessandro Beber | instructions|folded by

Making the grid for these is really tricky because it’s a mixed square/triangle grid on a dodecagon, but the results are definitely worth it.

Getting all the intermediate stages to lie flat was a pain, but the result is significantly cleaner.

I also wanted to try organizing my tags a bit (i.e. sorting things by type, whether or not there are instructions, grid size, etc.) but that’s also a work in progress.

Water Webs designed by Mark | reverse engineered|folded by

Ever since I saw this tessellation, it’s been a dream of mine to fold it on a larger grid. Over the summer, I finally found the time and paper to do it.

Sorry for the lack of updates–I’m taking 21 credit hours this semester and I both work in a lab and have a tutoring job, so I’ve had little to no time to fold or post ;-;

I know it’s been a while since my last post, but school has started up and has begun the process of killing what little time I have. This book is a really good investment though–I highly recommend it!
