Now that Travis & Kourtney are officially married, do you think they’ll do a Meet the Barkers 2.0? They’re like the Brady Bunch, each brought 3 kids. It can be called “The Barker Bunch” Caitlyn Jenner can be Alice.
I used to own a book on the entire history and production of The Brady Bunch. Naturally, it had bios of all the cast members. Robert Reed’s bio talked about how he disliked the show and wanted to be respected as a serious actor, not just remembered as a sitcom dad. It said “He would rather have Hamlet on his tombstone than The Brady Bunch,” but it concluded by saying that there was no way he would get that wish.
Obviously, this book was written before he actually died.
Just recently, in a Hollywood Graveyard video, I finally saw Robert Reed’s grave. As it turns out, the book authors were wrong, and he actually did get the “wish” they imagined him having. His tombstone reads “Goodnight, Sweet Prince,” and it makes no mention of the sitcom that made him famous.
In TVTropes terminology, I’m not quite sure if this is Harsher in Hindsight, Hilarious in Hindsight, or a little bit of both.
