Suzu from “Belle”; just a quickie to pass the time while I listened to the wonderful soundtrack. Not sure how many more “larger-than-slice-of-life” genre films set half-IRL and half on a fantasy version of the internet Mamoru Hosoda needs to make before they’ll be satisfied, but I’ll happily keep on watching them forever.

I’m lowkey shocked that Belle (2021) got snubbed on the Oscar nominations list for Best Animated feature. Yeah, the story wasn’t perfect but you can’t deny how stunning the visuals were.
I’m even more shocked The Mitchell’s vs The Machines was chosen over it. A Netflix film beating out a film that won a 14 minute standing ovation at the Cannes film festival?! No hate on Netflix or TM vs TMbutBelle didn’t deserve to get snubbed like that.
